Re: Best Ball Bearing Swivel/Best Value?
The Worth swivels are doing great. I have been crushing them during the fall feed up in a few of the golf course lakes around me. The Florida strain bass that I put in one of my old home lakes are finally starting to recover from a fish kill caused by the blue-stoning of the lake when it was too hot...

Re: wigglefin action discs anyone?
just wondering if anyone uses the wigglefin action discs in front of their plastics and what your experiences have been with it? from the videos i've seen, the action is crazy but i wonder if it is TOO crazy (to the point that it scares fish rather than attract them)? Those look like they may be si...

Re: FC Sniper vs Super FC Sniper
Big price difference. I would be interested in feedback from those who have fished both. Thanks. Yeah there is a quite a difference however I have fished both extensively and the Sunline Super FC sniper is way better IMO it's a little softer and more limp similar to Seagur Invisx. What will be your...

Re: best braid line for spinnebait!
A tip that can help is to add a little extra pressure on your spool right before your bait hits the water. This is a must with braid and treble hooked swimbaits. It straightens out your bait so that it is facing you when it hits the water. This will prevent some of the tangles on your wire form also.

Re: The best way for a splitshot rig?
I caught bass up to 10 1/4 pounds in the 80's and 90's on four pound test mono with an "old school" split shot. Most of the finesse originators, like Disk Trask, that I fished against used Ultragreen Maxima mono. I always used the Bullet Weights split shot in #4 or 5 without the groves with mono. It...

Re: Spinnerbait Evolution,your timeline
Those Mini Bushwackers were great for our Yellow Belly bream , aka Robbies. Imagine you used them for smallmouth more than LMB. The first spinnerbaits I used in the '70s were the Fleck. The Fleck Falling Star was a great bait. Cast, retrieve, pause. Bass would engulf them when paused, and the blade...

Re: Spinnerbait Evolution,your timeline
I remember building my baits with plain flat rubber and unpainted bullet heads from The Tackle Shop when I was 12 back in the early 80's. Before this were the vinyl skirts and barrel swivels. You need a few of the "old school" baits with these skirts in your picture chronology for it to represent us...

Little Creeper All American Sunfish
I looks like TT finally did a write-up. This bait shines around grass during the day. I catch fish on it a night, but I like something that pushes a little more water.

This bait looks like it could be the 'deal". That also looks like a Worth swivel.

Re: Compact spinnerbait

Re: Black swim jigs at night??
i sort of remember reading an article about the color black in bassmaster magazine back around 1980. the gist of the article was that black was the best color at night, citing a study by the US army that found that black was actually the most visible color on dark nights. unfortunately, that was al...

Lighter fluid works the best of these mentioned options in my opinion.

Re: best braid line for spinnebait!
I've heard of guys using clear tubing on the first few inches of line for spinnerbaits and topwaters with braid. I have some clear plastic tubing that I bought for this application, but I didn't like it. It sucks to have to use a leader when line visibility is not an issue, but you gotta do what you...
