Re: Daiwa TWS And Braid, Opinions

The one link I was able to look at was from 2016. Come on guys if you don't like the T-wing that is fine but apparently the problems with it were fixed some time ago. I have seen no new posts of the thing grooving. For me the TWS deal is a non issue I neither love or hate it. I have used braid to l...

Re: Rod Weights

how does the balance feel? Using a 6.5oz reel not bad for a 7'5" sub 4oz rod. is it better then the H3 balance? Easily, NRX a tick lighter 2" longer yet better balanced. With a curado 70 on both the balance point is 1/2" closer to reel on the 893. Yea I also found the balance on that H3 model to be...

Re: Do You Have A Favorite Cheap Rod?

Quantum Smoke 7' M/F gen 1 casting. I got 2 and if they were still made Id buy more. Light at 3.4oz balances well even with Core 50mg7. Versatile range can throw 1/20 ned rigs up to 3/4oz KVD spinnerbaits or lipless cranks. Its impressed me more than any $200-$300-$400-$500 rod I own.

Re: Does the Curado K or DC have an aluminum gear options

Taking that weight off will throw the balance up the rod more negating the weight difference.
A heavier balanced combo is better than a lighter unbalanced rig.

Re: Is there that much "junk" line making it to shelves?

You know how with a palomar knot you fold the line over about a foot or so, start there. Then tie a FishNfool knot with 5-6 turns.

6 pound Nanofill will hold to 9 pounds and 8 pound Nanofil to 12 pound knot strength.

The recommended knot lets go right at its rating.

Re: Is there that much "junk" line making it to shelves?

Its always been amazing to me how line reviews can be so polarizing. Guess Im fortunate, but I just dont manage to find all these spools of line w/all these phantom break offs...(Using appropriate diameters that are in good condition of course). Ive had legit issues Nanofil - I just dont get it. Mo...

-- I actually had typed up responses to everything you posted. I spent about 30 minutes typing my rebuttal. Then I decided it's not worth it. There are more pressing things going on in my office and in the world. Arguing with someone on the internet over Shimano's decision to use a certain material...

If when comparing, you are using the diameters as
stated by the manufacturer, you are being mislead.
Their specifications are not accurate. That is my point.
What tool/procedure are you using that is so accurate.
