Re: Crooked blanks on high end rods?
I've become convinced that some of what passes for crooked or kinks in a rod is actually the edge of the flag spiraling around the perimeter of the blank. I've got one "naked-finish" rod in particular that my initial impression was "WTH this thing jinks all over the place!!" When I looked closer, t...

Re: Nrx894 new reelseat???
Seems like I noticed an extra bead of epoxy on the front portion of the 894 and 895. Maybe to beef them up as I know I had and 854 and 893 that it came loose and had to be warrantied. I have had that issue on a few nrx rods. The way the thread (front) portion of the 894 reelseat is now one piece in...

Re: Crooked blanks on high end rods?
What is yalls allowable limit? zero...if you notice the curve, then it's too much. Whether it's a factory rod or one I make...like others said all blanks seem to be crooked to a degree...as you look down it like a rifle, I put the curve up/towards the sky...let gravity and the wt of the guides make...

Re: Crooked blanks on high end rods?
Im not that picky to expect the blank to be perfectly straight but these are pretty far off and it is noticeable to me when holding the rod in one hand off to the side not looking down it for straightness. I have several of the same model rods that are straight or at least not noticeably crooked so ...

Re: Crooked blanks on high end rods?
I have returned several to the same manufacturer for being crooked (clearly crooked) I do not want to say the name of the manufacturer because their customer service on the replacements has been top notch. Recently I had a reelseat failure and they sent me a replacement rod and it came in crooked so...

The chronarch ci4 has this same issue with the rubber pad falling off.
