Re: St Croix LTB
I use a 70MHF casting rod from St. Croix almost exclusively for 1/2oz blades, and I am very happy with the results.

Re: Need some Shimano Metanium DC and DC7 feedback
As the title states, I'm looking for some feedback regarding this reel. I'm thinking about picking up a few of these and want to hear some opinions from those who have hands-on experience with this reel. Is the DC4 system the same found in the Calais 200DC? I will be using these reels as all-around...

Re: Reel of the Year 2011
The Zillion Type R. Though this is not my favorite reel, I found myself reaching for this one a lot. 2011 was 'The Year of the Jig' for me, and my 1/4oz rubber jig/beaver rig is a Zillion Type R saddled on a 7'1" Compile X. The Calcutta 201DC ranks right up there as well. I fished a ton of 1/2oz bla...

Re: Powell Diesel Rods
I sincerely hope these are going to be higher end Powell rods. Powell is a great rod company, but I find my taste is getting more and more expensive when it comes to rods. Give the tackle monkey something to drool over Powell!!! Yup. From what I get they will be available end of January and will re...

Re: Daiwa "Insiders"
$295----I specifically wanted the 6-5" ML version for Jerkbaits---when i went to order it ---they called and said they were all gone and would not be getting anymore. When I asked why---they said that the Flex-Lites were all being discontinued. I confirmed that with SFT. Tey told me there would be ...

Re: Daiwa "Insiders"
I may add that Japanese mfg of all industries including tackle and the release dates of the past may be just that--- the past. Due primarily to the March EQ/Tsunami and less dollars to be spent in the US. I think that may have been the reason for the T3 to be released simultaneoulsy in the same yea...

Re: NEW Jackall Flick Shake - Violet Shad
Do you guys really catch em on pink? I know have tried it and never really torn their faces off. I mean ive caught a few but nothing special. I was in a tackle shop with my wife once during one of our many tight money times and found a rod I just NEEDED to have. My wife OKed the purchase with one c...

A Cumulus is worth a look. I have a 51Mg7 on the 7'1" Cumulus, and I am quite happy with this combo.

Re: Daiwa T3 levelwind question
One sliver and 1 copper is right but if U get 2 copper or 2 sliver washers and the schmatics call for 1 that is a factory error, the little washers will stick together. I wanted to get a T3 but now for sure I will wait, what a cluster f.  I will pass. [/b][/u] Agreed. Bummer. I was think...

Re: New PB and story about my Lake Fork trip
WOW! Fantastic post.
Glad everything worked out. Pretty cool you got to check out the ballpark. I'd like to catch a 'Stros/Brewers game there before Houston goes to the AL.
