Re: Favorite texas rig worms

Lake Fork Baby Ring Fry works at every lake I fish. Hands down my favorite. I also like the Berkley Chiggar Craw, especially around rock.

Re: Punching Reel/ Flipping Reel

I have a Zillion on my 766 and feel like it does not have enough power. I will upgrade the drag and see if this improves. You can't beat a Revo Premier or STX for power IMHO.

Re: Received my Abu MGX today...

I am curious as to how these fish compared to the Premier (2010 or 2011)? If anyone has both please let us know.

Re: Tube Setup

DX703SF ( medium power fast action) with a Certate 2500 and 8LB 100% Flouro for Coffee tubes and jig heads 3/16 and larger. For small tubes with jig heads under 3/16 I use a DX702SF (medium light power fast action) with a Certate 2500 and 6LB 100% Flouro.

Re: Proper Spooling

I use the Berkley spooling station for casting and spinning reels and have no problems. I've been using it for 7 or 8 years.

Re: can a reel make your setup more sensitive?

I have switched out my Zillion 50th with a Revo Premier on several of my DXs' and my one Zbone. There is a pretty dramatic weight difference between these 2 reels. I have felt no difference in sensitivity with one vs the other nor did I expect to. I will also go out on that limb and say reel weight ...

Re: Are crakbaits worth throwing in the hot summertime????

Cranks are a great choice in warm water. Many times a reaction strike will be the only way to get bit and cranks are very efficient for this. They catch the biggest bass too.

Re: A unique opportunity what would you change.

Deep cycle batteries that weigh 25 pounds and hold a charge for a week. Wireless transducers for Lowrance and Hummingbird. A crankbait that dives to 50 feet on a normal cast and does not kill your arms on the retreive.

Re: Lake erie

A medium light or light powered fast action spinning rod and 6lb flouro is my preferred setup. I do very well with Jackal Crosstail Shad in almost any color. I nose hook them on a 1/0 or 2/0 Gama wide gap finesse hook and use lead cylinder weight (as light as I can get away with while still keeping ...

Re: Flouro Recs for Finesse Spinning?

I have had good luck for the past 2 seasons with Berkley 100% Flouro. It's managable, has good abrasion resistance, and is sensative enough to feel a bite on slack line. I use 6LB for dropshot. For casting reels I like a stiffer more sensative line like Toray Superhard Upgrade.

Re: Delaware river fishing help<<<....

I got a ticket there about 10 years ago because I was fishing out of a canoe and didn't have a life jacket. My fault. There are alot of game wardens, especially around the state campgrounds so make sure you follow the state regulations.

It is a business and everyone needs to make a living. If you buy a product because someones name is on it and you don't do any kind of research before buying the product than you are a poor consumer and have no right to complain. Most on this sight probably see past the marketing and at least look o...

Re: Lens color for Costas

The 580 lens is worth the extra money. I have copper and they are a good all around lens tint. Costa also have a lifetime warranty and are great to deal with if you ever need to.

Re: Hooks for - beavers, tubes etc.

For heavy cover when fishing a Sweet Beaver I use Champion 766 with 65 LB Suffix 832 braid, 4/0 Gama Superline wide gap hook, and a 3/8 to 3/4 oz Tru Tungston Flipping Weight. For tubes I like the Eagle Claw Shaw Grigsby HP hook with the clip on it. This hook works well with flipping tubes and has i...
