NRX+ 822 DSR vs Steez AGS Med Lt Finesse Game Special
I currently use a 1st generation NRX 822 DSR and am looking to replace it with the NRX+ or Steez AGS Finesse Game Special. Has anyone used both of these rods? How do they compare in terms of sensitivity, power, and action? Is one more comfortable than the other?

Re: Which State would you choose?
Central Maine is my favorite area to fish. There are lots of lakes to choose from and most have healthy populations of SMB and LMB. You also can fish for pike in the Belgrade region. Best of all, there is very little fishing pressure. It's not uncommon to be the only bass boat on the lake. There are...

Re: Cold versus warm water jerkbaits
I throw suspending jerkbaits all year. Most of the time, the 110 and 110 Jr +1 are my top catchers. At times though, I will do better with a Jackall Rerange 110 or 130 and Xraps. The Jackall DD Squirrel 79 catches bigger bass for me for some reason. I normally have at least 2 jerkbaits tied on and i...

Re: That feeling …
Had the same thing happen last year in a small lake in NJ. I was pitching a jig and felt that thump. The fish took off and ran about 100 yards. I could not turn its head and it stayed low. Then nothing. No way it was a bass. I'm thinking someone put channel cats in this lake.

1/10 oz with a 4" TRD. I would say the power is a med light as listed. I've use it with texas rigged 4" Senko's too. The Super Eiger just works better for Senko's as it has a little more power. I throw the Ned on spinning gear 95% of the time.

Re: Whats your preference for 4-8lb test Casting
Phenix K2 7'1" med light is my favorite small jerkbait rod. It will work for ned, drop shot, and light texas rigs too. I have it paired with a Steez CT and 8lb Sniper. If I want a little more power, I like my MB Super Eiger with Steez CT and 8lb Sniper.

Re: Super Eiger orginal VS 2015 model?
I have the original with a Steez CT and 8lb Sniper. It is fantastic for throwing 4" weightless Senko's. It's as sensitive as they come. Have fun with it!
Re: Phenix K2
I have been using the 713C for a while. It is great for small jerkbaits and swimbaits. Most of the time, I have a 110+1 Jr tied on. It will work with light plastics if using a light wire hook. You can dropshot with it too. The handle is comfortable and holding up well. I don't use the trigger for a ...

Re: Your Path to the Dark Side ...
My first high end reel was a Daiwa Millionaire CVZ 203A in the late 90's I believe. I had several and used them for inshore and freshwater. I wish I would have kept one for inshore fishing. The rod that led me to the dark side was a Kistler Helium 2 LTX. It had a strange grip material that made the ...

Abu because they have some nice JDM reels. The only other reel brand on that list I would use if I had to is Lew's.

Re: Favorite braid for spinning reels
I have a few months fishing Daiwa J Braid Grand 15lb and YKG G Soul 22LB side by side. The YKG is thinner so it's not a direct comparison but after fishing both, the YKG is much better that he Daiwa in my hands. I haven't had any mysterious breakoffs with either. The G Soul casts extremely well. The...

I fish out of a boat so I have 5 or 6 of the same bait if they produce. I always buy any new bait in pairs.

You have 56 Shimano casting reels and only 1 with problems. Can't get much better than that.

Steez CT for casting and Exist for spinning. I have a new Zillion but need more time on the water with it before I judge it.
