Re: Choosing the right reel?? so many variables...

Ah ive fished indian river always when im down in jensen beach. Ive always used my bass rigs for anything down there including tarpon. Try a braid instead of mono with a Floro leader. All my spinning reels are 2500s. Work great for trout, reds, snook, jacks, everything on the flats.

Ahhh i like the smokey joe(tenn shad) or chartreuse white for smallies. Also try the bleeding bait cranks i like those much better.

Re: strike king cranks

I dont think they are that bad considering they are in the 3 dollar range. I prefer luckycraft, Excalibers arnt bad either. There are many kinds of cranks that will work. Each has their own unique wobbles.

Re: scorpion 1001 online?

i agree with the GL2 i have a spinning gl2 and love it. I also have a premier croix spinning and it is a little stiffer, but is a great rod. Both are resonable and will suit the scorpion.

Re: scorpion 1001 online?

Dont know yet. Since im a fan of loomis or croix i might stick with those, but im up to trying a new outfit like helium or an airrus. Any other ideas will be helpful. I have an older quantum 6'6" rod that i might use till i get a new rod since a whole package will be around 250-300 or so.

Re: scorpion 1001 online?

Well since I am not going on the trip to Tenn anymore due to the hurricane and all the rain they are getting, I am now thinking of getting the reel now and not in a few weeks. Ugh now i have to find a rod that will go with it

Re: Exude & Gulp!

I love the Exude soft plastic jerkbaits! Slimmy lil buggers though. For gulp try the stic-bait kinda like the senko those work great too for wacky and texas weightless.
