Re: Cast 1/64 with Ald15

After reading into the Aldebaran reels some I am a bit confused. There is the new Aldebaran MGL, then the Aldebaran BFS XG, then the Aldebaran 50. I know the MGL is newest and most spools mentioned do not apply to it, but for Ccass which combo are you using? The BFS XG with aftermarket spools? Or t...

Re: Recommend a rod to go with my Aldebaran BFS

Never had the Shimano Cardiff but have had a trout one and it was a nice rod. For bass and trout I think the one listed below might serve you better, should have a little more backbone for fighting bass.

Re: BFS and Trout baitcast combos

To tell the truth, I haven't had just a whole lot of time with it. It's great for casting smaller jerkbaits and pitching 1/16th shakey heads, I can tell you that much. Depending on the line you use, I'm sure it would work for about anything. I may get a ML bfs rod rated up to 3/8th for it, which I ...

Re: Who is using BFS casting gear for trout/panfish

I just recently got into fishing BFS. I bought a 17 Shimano Calcutta Conquest BFS HG and a 5'3" Tenryu Rays UL rod. I have the reel spooled with 3lb Sunline Troutist Darkness. Due to the weather here in Western Montana, I have only had it out once and caught one small Brown Trout on it but it was a...

Re: BFS and Trout baitcast combos

Is that the SV light limited, I just got one yesterday in the mail along with a Alphas Air Stream Custom. I cant wait to get out and try them out. Yeah, the SV Light LTD-TN. Killer reel. I love it. That's funny. I bought both of those reels back to back late last year. Just ordered a standard alpha...

I have an Alphas ASC and I'd love to hear how you think the two compare. I cant wait to use the ASC, didn't get all the good things I hear about this re...

BFS Tsurinoya Dragon rod

Does anyone have this rod ? I'm looking for some info on the action and backbone. I'm looking for a moderate action ultralight BFS rod around 5' but not trying to spend to much. Any help would be great, thank you. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/TSURINOYA-Fishing-Rod-DRAGON-1-82m-1-52m-UL-Spinning-C...

Re: Bfs line

I have used 12lb Gliss and 8lb PowerPro and just spooled some 6lb Fireline Crystal on my Daiwa Alphas Air. The Gliss is the best casting hands down but for some reason I think I like the braid the best, can’t tell you why but I do. I will update on the Fireline when I use it, probably this Wednesday...

Re: Micro bass jig BFS rod

I throw lots of 1/16 and 1/8oz jigs and I use Major Craft Benkei 672L/BF rod and Abu ALC-BF7 reel spooled up with 8lb Fluoro. Love the combo because the Abu has a awesome drag and super light spool and the Benkei rod for me is the perfect Fast action and backbone mix for jigs, then to top it all off...

Re: Braid with leader for crankbaits

I run Fluorocarbon for cranking if I want it to run deep and get there faster but for every other circumstance I run 10 to 15lb Braid with Fuoro leader using a Palomar knot, I don't think I really need the leader but I use one for everything except top water.

It varies throughout the year really but I catch lots of Bass, including my PB on LipLess Crankbaits
