Re: Little Creeper All American Sunfish
With swimbait fishing I really believe it's more about practice and persistence when learning how to fish a certain bait than about having something the fish has never seen before. Find a lure that emulates the bait fish in your area and then fish it in a variety of weather conditions and at differ...

Re: Little Creeper All American Sunfish
... I don't think anyone expects anyone else to "spill their beans". A casual conversation is what it is all about. I agree with you about keeping some info to ourselves like our super secret fishing spots, but when it comes to fishing techniques I don't see why we can't open up and share those ide...

Re: Little Creeper All American Sunfish
Only if you share some of your fishing spots first... DaveJ Nobody expects GPS coordinates, or even the mention of a specific lake. A simple reply like "the crappie color is my favorite in the fall because my lake has a lot of crappie" or "I can't get a good hook-up ratio with mono" tells us what m...

Re: Little Creeper All American Sunfish
Very few pretend to know anything about swimbaits... OK, I'll bite. I am a swimbait fan so tell me what I don't know! I am always open to learning something new so please explain your swimbait techniques? And, I just went and looked up this particular swimbait and found some interesting comments ou...

Re: Little Creeper All American Sunfish
Very few pretend to know anything about swimbaits, yet almost everyone is buying them. I can't be the only one that has ever fished this bait. It is often sold out.

Re: Line for lunker punkers?
65lb Braid. The bait glides side to side with more ease. One of my team partners is one of the best there is with this bait and he owns several of the first baits that were made. You need to thumb the spool heavily right before the bait hits the water to straighten the bait out and to keep it from t...

Re: Using slower bearing to tame wild spools
As has been said, using heavier and lighter lubes is the easiest way to tame a wild spool. You can be amazed at the difference if you haven't tried it. I stay away from the really light lubes because they can make your good ole reel a crazy demon. I'll give up a tiny bit on the distance to keep from...

Re: Dropshot hair?
There are quite a few guys tying hair jigs for the float and fly, but I don't know if any use the correct hook for drop shotting. I have heard of a few finesse anglers tying drop shot jigs out here in the West, but I have never used any. You might be able to find something with google.

Re: best braid line for spinnebait!
A tip that can help is to add a little extra pressure on your spool right before your bait hits the water. This is a must with braid and treble hooked swimbaits. It straightens out your bait so that it is facing you when it hits the water. This will prevent some of the tangles on your wire form als...

Re: wigglefin action discs anyone?
just wondering if anyone uses the wigglefin action discs in front of their plastics and what your experiences have been with it? from the videos i've seen, the action is crazy but i wonder if it is TOO crazy (to the point that it scares fish rather than attract them)? Those look like they may be si...

Re: Best Ball Bearing Swivel/Best Value?
The Worth swivels are doing great. I have been crushing them during the fall feed up in a few of the golf course lakes around me. The Florida strain bass that I put in one of my old home lakes are finally starting to recover from a fish kill caused by the blue-stoning of the lake when it was too hot...

Re: FC Sniper vs Super FC Sniper
Big price difference. I would be interested in feedback from those who have fished both. Thanks. Yeah there is a quite a difference however I have fished both extensively and the Sunline Super FC sniper is way better IMO it's a little softer and more limp similar to Seagur Invisx. What will be your...

Re: The best way for a splitshot rig?
I caught bass up to 10 1/4 pounds in the 80's and 90's on four pound test mono with an "old school" split shot. Most of the finesse originators, like Disk Trask, that I fished against used Ultragreen Maxima mono. I always used the Bullet Weights split shot in #4 or 5 without the groves with mono. It...
