Re: Bait the Finesse?!? Shimano -v- Daiwa Product Insight
Actually, I mean with the original Ambassadeurs, especially the International Series with performance upgrades (if you can afford to soup them up as Abus get pricey quick!)...I haven't any experience with the LT and LTX. What I mean is that Abu was already fiddling around with upgraded finesse capab...

I would like to see Cortland Master braid...with whatever knot TT chooses to use as the standard.

Re: Bait the Finesse?!? Shimano -v- Daiwa Product Insight
From my experience, and tests(actual casting tests), the free spool times are inconclusive in actual casting distance/ease. And from my experience, and others... a Shimano is much easier to set and cast than any Daiwa (and by all means, each time we've put them head to head... Shimano outcast Daiwa...

Re: Product Insight on new Calcutta's
Shimano had to increase the price of the reel, OR cut some of the costs. It looks like they chose to cut the cost, while offering a reel that palms better and probably casts just as good if not better. It's like comparing the Chronarch D to the Curado/Chronarch E. On paper, the Chronarch D is bette...

Re: Regaining His Edge : Bass Rods by Gary Loomis
From the pics of the wiebe handle, it looks as if they left the reel foot nut the same.(It was a real paint scraper. ) Wish they could incorporate a cushioned hood style with the rest staying within the classic wiebe style. =D> I've had a few standard Fuji seats that weren't able to secure re...

Re: Regaining His Edge : Bass Rods by Gary Loomis
BTW SLM, thanks for sharing abou Schaefer...did they also contribute to the Weibe seat design? Ken Wiebe sold his inventory to Gary Schaefer and the design was renamed Schaefer Super Sticker. This was around 2004/2005 or thereabouts, maybe even before. I was working in retail and when Wiebe was vis...

Re: Regaining His Edge : Bass Rods by Gary Loomis
I hope that these Edge rods will give me the same feeling I had when I purchased my first GLoomis rods...it was indeed a very special experience that I will never forget. Even at full retail, to be able to hold a GL3, IMX, GLX and then to actually own these rods and put them on the water, all the wh...

Re: Regaining His Edge : Bass Rods by Gary Loomis
I agree on the Recoils...hoping they offer both mixed and SICs only. SICs with revolver wrap + that Weibe rebirthed seat would be like buying a factory made "custom" with manufacturer's warranty for me. BTW SLM, thanks for sharing abou Schaefer...did they also contribute to the Weibe seat ...

Re: What the Finesse No Trigger? Evergreen's Stingray 66
I like this idea for lighter presentation specific BC rods. There are a couple of rods that I have where I wish I could move the trigger location, or remove it all together for certain techs.

Re: Product Insight on new Calcutta's
I throw everything from 1/4 - 1oz + with 100 sized Calcuttas and 3/8 - 4oz-ish with the TE 200GT...certain size Calcuttas do just fine for lighter to heavy lures.
In my case, adjustable brakes are a huge advantage...and a want as well.

Re: Product Insight on new Calcutta's
There is no denial on my part. I think the Calcutta D is a win and I like the reel. I am thankful that there were NRX issues because it allowed me to repair reel seats and obtain several rods for my personal use :) I have my favorite products and that is what I use. Step onto my boat and you will s...

Re: Product Insight on new Calcutta's
And to say I am in denial or stressed? And this is a follow up to the election? There is no media to provide a spin on this one, and nobody will get food stamps or cell phones for being here I am not even remotely stressed about this. If you ever met me in person I think you would see I do not get ...
