Re: Megabass monoblock

I got my first Monoblock today. Wow, was my first thought. I can't believe I held off for so long, for those that haven't held one, they are just a wonderful size. From pictures, I thought they were huge. The reel palms and balances wonderfully on the NRX 894c that I will be using it on for light fl...

Re: Megabass monoblock

I am in the process of switching to the dark side after originally holding off because I thought Monoblocks were just for Swimbaits. My Monoblock 100 XRL is being tuned by Ian Shields and will include upgraded bearings and 7:2:1 gears. I plan to use it with a NRX 894c for light Flipping and Deep Wat...

Re: Megabass Essentials

I have heard there are a few standouts in the 2016 Destroyer , Faust and bandersnatch i am pretty sure, but i am not speaking from experience . I think it may be possible to find a 2015 Black Jungle Power Versatile, I love this rod. I'm always on the look out for new gear so I'm interested to hear ...

Re: Anyone fished the Megabass ASL7005X

My preference is the NRX 843 MBR with its fast taper which is more an apples to apples comparison to the ASL7005X. The 853 is extra fast which Megabass doesn't really do bar the X7 Bearingdown Type X. If the ASL7005X is more a match to the NRX 854 then I have other stuff to cover that weight range. ...

Re: Anyone fished the Megabass ASL7005X

Anyone fished this rod yet ? I'm interested to hear if the Arms Super Leggera is a tarted up X7 at double the price or if the blank offers some performance advantage over other Megabass rods

Re: Megabass Essentials

Forgot to say that I used and moved on plenty of Megabass rods too, starting with: * F4ST-69RSDti - It's close with the NRX 822 DSR but I like the longer rod for balancing out a Stella. The NRX 822 DSR has a tad more sensitivity too. Drop shot rod specific then NRX 822 DSR, want more versility with ...

Re: Megabass Essentials

Looks like new 2016 Destroyer line up didn't really impress. Where are you getting this info from? For example jdmbassman, he always goes the best, and I doubt he picked any of 2016 Destroyers yet. I don't say new Destroyers are bad or don't worth it, but I think Megabass made better rods in the pa...

Re: Your most versatile rod?

I thought that NRX rods were supposed to be technique specific but the NRX 843 MBR seems to do a good job of most baits in the 3/8oz to 1/2oz range.

Poison Ultima 170MH

For those that have fished the rod, I would appreciate you passing on the benefit of your wisdom as to how it fishes a 3/8oz jig with trailer.

Is the tip fast or extra fast.

Any direct comparisons with the Megabass P3 Bearingdown and or NRX 843 MBR / NRX 853 would be super.

ZPI Blue Emblem

Until I can source a ZPI Blue Emblem and try it out for myself, it would be great to hear everyone's experiences with this spool that make it a must have purchase. Thanks for your help keeping the monkey in check

Re: Monoblock Appreciation Society.

It took a while but the Monoblock monkey is on my back. I have very little knowledge of them so pardon my noddy question. First came the 100 (2007) then; Grigio Titanio (2009), Racing Condition, Racing Milano & Evoluzion Topaz (2010), HG68 & Racing Viola (2011) and last but not least the Speciale (2...

Re: Phase 3 super destroyer vs x7 super rekkai

If you imagine that same sensitity from a light power rod in a medium heavy rod, you will get why to buy.

I have a Themis with a 15 Aldebaran, it weighs less than 10oz. From the rod that use higher quality materials, you get it all without compromise.

Re: Phase 3 super destroyer vs x7 super rekkai

I've caught many fish over 3lb on the X7 Bearingdown Type X, smallies too and we know how they fight ;) Although I haven't lifted one in to the boat. The question is, would you do so with a NRX 852 ? The beauty of the Bearingdown Type X is that it has the sensitivity of a lighter power rod but more ...
