Re: Orochi FX-81X4 Black Python

I have the 7'11'' and it is very tip heavy and clumsy. The balance is shockingly bad for a $150 rod let alone the $310 I payed for it. It is the 1st and last Megabass rod I will own.

Re: Removing spool bearing from new metanium MGL

PB Blaster penetrating oil. I used to spay the open ended lugnuts on my old zillion mile rusty Taurus because they would seize up from rust. If the stuff can get those off then it should be able to handle your bearing.

Re: Meet the $100 BFS reel: The Haibo Smart

You could get a Haibo Steed and put the DIY spool in that. The Steed is centrifugal breaking only and the external dial moves the race track closer to the breaks to increase braking. Stock shallow Steed spool is a whopping 16 grams vs the Haibo DIY's 9.9. $60 for the reel + $25 for the DIY spool. Th...

Re: Meet the $100 BFS reel: The Haibo Smart

Is this not the same reel as the ardent apex? http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Ardent_Apex_Elite_Casting_Reels/descpage-APEC.html Yes it's the same reel, Ardent reels are Haibos now. Don't expect the Ardents to cast light weight stuff like the Smart 50/51 though. Awesome. So do you think I could get ...

Re: Meet the $100 BFS reel: The Haibo Smart

Sound like alot of reel for 100$ despite the brake arms coming off so easily. Have you weighed the spools? I haven't but others have (Russians) and 10g is what they come out to be. Their shallow spool is sold individually as a DIY spool for Haibo Steed and it's advertised at 9.9g. Seems to check ou...

Meet the $100 BFS reel: The Haibo Smart

This thing kept tempting me every time I was on aliexpress and at $100 it's only twice the price of my DIY Alphas spool and you get a whole reel and 2 spools for your money. Well, I finally broke down and bought one a few months ago. I mean how bad can it be? What is it? The 50/51 size is a Chinese ...

Re: New reel: Shimano Flame

The more I look into these reels the more concerns I have. They're intended for snapper fishing rather than bass fishing. You wouldn't think that would matter but is it possible that the spools are shallow not because they are finesse reels but to reduce braid dig-in instead? Are they even casting r...

Re: New reel: Shimano Flame

Who's got em other than ratuken? I want to get one on order asap and I don't even like purely centrifugal braking reels. It'll be my 1st Shimano baitcasting reel.
