Re: Daiwa SV103XS Spool tension clicker

Pretty sure this is how Daiwa did it, But they don't offer the piece unless you purchase the whole side cover. Never though about making them as this is just my hobby. Lemme think about it a bit as I'm swamped at work and when I get spare time its usually on the water. Didn't know it was OK to sell ...

Re: Daiwa Tatula vs. Zillion 103sv

The TD-Z has a limited gear selection for my liking. Where OG Zillion and the SV103 have from 4.9:1 up to 7.9:1. I sold off my TD-z's due to this. But missed the finesse spools. With the new SV103 you now get the 34mm spool choices you could not get with the OG zillion. IMHO its the best of both wor...

Re: deep cranking reel

OG Zillion TDZLN100PLA for deeps(16'+) and A Abu gen 3 winch also do nicely. I like to stay in the 5 gear range for deeps and being a lefty my choices are a bit limited. I have a Lews BB2 Pro with BPS PQ 4.7:1 gearing for the 20+ foot range but don't fish that much. If they are that deep I just use ...

Yes, I'm a machinist by day. Reel nut by night. I'll have to post up some of the tweaks I've done to the Abu revo's some day.

Daiwa SV103XS Spool tension clicker

I got my SV103 a few days ago and something just bugged me. I'm so used to the click of the spool tension of the OG zillions. So I did a little investigating and came up with this as a fix. Took a few dimensions of the OG zillian. Whipped up a sketch and came up with this adapter out of 6061 aluminu...

Re: Daiwa Tatula vs. Zillion 103sv

That was the kicker for buying the 103SV first. I already had a good amount of spares.

Mine will be here tomorrow. \:D/ I'll test it out next weekend.

Re: Daiwa Tatula vs. Zillion 103sv

Well, I did the reverse of what I initially stated. Chatted with Gary at Tackle Trap and he hooked me up with the SV103XS. I'll get the ZN TW SV a bit later.

Seems everyone I see loves the SV103's and Just had to see for myself... As I do really like the OG zillians.

Re: Reeling Demographics... are you a righty or lefty

Mostly lefty, But can fish either way. Been throwing deep cranks righty as I can't find a lefty in lower gear ratio from Daiwa. Might order some from one of the JDM parts guys.

Any recommendations on who I might get the quickest serve? Pretty sure the 1016SV-L gears will fit the ZLNTW100HL.

Re: Daiwa Tatula vs. Zillion 103sv

I've been mulling between the 2 myself. I'm probably gonna get the Zillion TW SV first. But once I sell off a few of my TD-Z's, I'll add the SV103.

Nice to hear most of the 34mm spools will fit them both. :D
