Re: Opinions on GLX Warranty Submission
Send it in with a letter explaining what happened and the time line of how long you have had the rod. They will warranty it imo. I have never sent a rod To G Loomis and not have them stand behind it.

Re: Jig skirt collar rubber holder
I do the same thing with copper craft wire.hoohoorjoo wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2019 8:36 amSingle strand of copper wire from stranded THHN wire, wrapped twice, twisted tight, cut close to the bait and then fold over the tag end tight to the bait. I do this to every jig, chatterbait, spinnerbait and buzzbait I own.

Re: Line Conditioner
Part of the reason fluoro is so sensitive is because the stiffness of it helps aid in slack line feel, where as braid being more supple is not as good at slack line sensitivity but much better at straight line feel because of the very limited stretch. Maybe he thinks the conditioner is softening the...

Re: nrx 854 vs 873
I have been using the 854 for pitching to isolated wood cover and weed clumps. Mostly a beaver and a 3/8 or 7/16 tungsten pegged flipping weight. The 873 I use almost exclusively for 1/2 or 9/16 wobble heads, I like the extra length for longer casts and more line recovery on the hook set. The 854 Is...

Not weird at all, I have a Core 50 mg7 with a faster gear set in it and still love the combo.

Re: nrx 854 vs 873
Most people bad mouth the 854, so I was a bit unsure about that rod. I got one last year on sale for less than $300 and I like it quite a bit. BUT I also have a 893,894 and a 873. I like the 873 better than the 854 for most things, but the 854 deserves a little love too.

Those are some nice fish for sure, but the ones with the dark bars on their head are really cool.

Re: What's your favorite NRX and why ?
893c is the best bottom contact rod on the planet in my opinion. I can feel when fish are just swimming by or nosing around. Have set the hook several times and snagged the fish. 893c is SPECIAL & I have hooked plenty of bass outside the mouth. I have the green model & running 12lb pline tactical. ...

Shimano driver for small screws.
Hi Guys, I just started to service my own Shimano reels. What are you guys using to remove the small phillips screw near the thumb bar on a Chronarch MGL. It is a very small phillips headed screw and I cant find a driver to fit it well. Thanks.

Re: Rods You Have Aquired For 2019
I picked up a couple over the winter so far. I got a Shimano Zodias 175xh casting rod on sale for heavy slop froggin. Also just picked up a new NRX854 for under $300 from my local Cabelas/BPS on clearance. It will feel right at home with my NRX893,873, and 894.

Re: What rod caught you the most fish in 2018?
Between my GLX845 cbr and NRX893. Probably better numbers on the crankbait rod, but better quality on the NRX with a beaver and a 1/4 tungsten weight. BUT I sure love pitchin a jig to cover with my NRX894.

Re: 2019 wishes
My wish from 2014 to 2019. Daiwa Baby Z  This. A $300 range Daiwa, a miniature Z2020 would compete well with the Bantam MGL. I'd also like to see a SV105 replacement with a shallow spool. On the Shimano side, a Curado K70 or Curado 70MGL would be awesome. I like the Aldebaran but worry about t...

Re: What's next for Daiwa...
They're finally, after hundreds of years, making the Z1016. Because that's not enough, they're reintroducing the beloved TDZ, which will be just a bit below the Steez price. But wait, that's not enough. They're also reintroducing the pixys with an ultra shallow SV spools. nvm we're not getting anyt...
