Re: Tackle Storage - In house VS garage
I‘m trying to get all my soft lures out of the home / living areas into the garage, as I get increasingly suspicious about all the plasticizers that might out-gas and the artificial scents. Or store them in air tight boxes. Maybe a thing you might want to consider, as for fishing goods I guess there...

Re: Third generation Tatula is coming next month
It appears so short and tall, it really reminds me of the first cheap AliExpress reels that were available. So kind of 3 steps backwards.
Also the contour lines are very organic and rounded, maybe they’re going for the authentic spider body after all. I bet 20 on the next Tatula coming with 8 legs

Bought ‘97 by my Dad in Oregon, towed behind the holiday motorhome until 2000. Then shipped across the Atlantic to Central Europe and driven by me since I turned 18 in 2009, the Cherokee now serves solely for fishing and trips down memory lane to when I got to discover all the major west coast natio...

Re: Any Experience With This Gomexus Carbon Handle?
The axles are almost the same length but this… shoulder? What would you call it in English? Where the bottom bearing rests on is longer. So the bearings are further apart inside the Daiwa knob. The Daiwa knob only slides on the Shimano handle far enough to support the upper bearing if you leave out ...

Had the tick in a Stradic FL but only under load, sent it back no problem. Ticks drive me nuts, totally unacceptable to me.

Re: Bass Fishing Not Very Popular?
Did Covid do sth to fishing over in the US? Here in Germany we saw huge numbers of newbie fishermen during lockdown. Even considering that in some states you need to do a weeks long course and pass a state run exam to get a license. So partially it’s relatively hard to get into. In the US I could se...

yeah they found a way to generate revenue by offering a sexier looking twin. And I was totally down for that
At least in freshwater fishing. Maybe the extra bearing on the spool does something noteworthy for saltwater applications… no clue

I’ve got the C3000M on a ‘23 ML Silverado. Looks just like my 2500 Vanford if you’d turn it greyscale and also feels like it. It’s the same frame, rotor and so on. Haven’t opened them up but according to the websites feature list, the only difference is in the drag. The schematics look pretty much t...

Re: Any Experience With This Gomexus Carbon Handle?
Nope, standard configuration for Shimano knobs.
I have however found pictures of an older version of those handles that appear to have Daiwa shaped knob axles. But the handles I’ve bought within the last year have all had the Shimano style. Maybe it’s this old generation thats got odd dimensions.

Re: Any Experience With This Gomexus Carbon Handle?
I use the 95mm Gomexus carbon handles on all my Metaniums, Bantam and Aldebarans. But I bought the handle only and am using the stock knobs. Great quality product. If you get the Daiwa sized handle, it will go on Daiwa reels but will only accept Shimano knobs. That was a little disappointing. Seems ...

Re: FG finish help
The finish and half hitches will undo for me as well, using mostly PE0.6 to 1.0 8 braided lines. I use a tiny bit of superglue to stop them from doing that. Just a little on the outside, not a full penetration. The main knot is not glued. Works perfectly, never failed, no loss in knot strength. As m...

Have a look here:

Some sellers take some weird rule of what’s allowed on air fright too seriously and take out the oil before shipping.
I for example also can’t get any dipping dye from tackle warehouse shipped to Europe…

Re: Why Are (Most) BFS Rods Are 2 Piece Rods?
Are we talking Bass BFS or Stream (trout) rods? Talking bass rods - from the top of my head I can only name 2 piece BFS rods that are also available in 1 Piece (Shimano Zodias, Expride, Adrena), but none that’s only available 2 piece. All other Japanese models I know of are single piece only (Glorio...

Fuji MHKM or the small American Tackle, both allow securing Texas rigged plastics without having to expose the hook point. If the point is exposed, I just use the reel or first guide.
