Re: Looking for a hook

You could also buy bare hooks and use some lead wire wrapped around the shank to adjust the weight how you want it.

Re: Tackle Storage - In house VS garage

Unless you can get your garage to stay around 72 degrees all year round--I would say to keep them inside.

All my stuff stays inside a closet in my house--it doesn't get stored in the garage except for maybe a day or two when I'm unloading and coming back from a fishing trip.

Re: Bass Fishing Not Very Popular?

Did Covid do sth to fishing over in the US? Here in Germany we saw huge numbers of newbie fishermen during lockdown. I think it's the same here in northern California. I wouldn't say huge, but I started seeing more people. There's been a good number of people that got into bass fishing for sure in ...

Re: Swimbait rod recs for 1-4oz, under 7’7

Bringing this back for personal reasons...looking to upgrade my Dobyns Champion 795SB into something lighter in physical weight for throwing 6" Magdrafts, Slideswimmer 175s, and the like. If it's within your budget range, the Luxxe Efreet B76XH-R weighs 4.515 oz and plenty of power up to 4oz. Do yo...

Re: Saltwater safe baitcaster

I've been using the Curado MGL 150 with good success for saltwater striper. Caught a big 20 pound bat ray that was stripping drag and took me a good 30 minutes to bring in on 12# test and it still runs smooth. I rinse mine out after each trip and spray some Ardent anti corrosion on it and let it dry...

Re: Bass Fishing Not Very Popular?

Just curious, why the hate for bass resource? I feel like the guys there got caught by the sponsorship bug and keep plugging away at products that are subpar or mediocre at best. Also, if you say anything negative about a sponsored product, then you can be sure it's going to get removed. Bunch of s...

Re: Bass Fishing Not Very Popular?

That first big crash really felt like it had a big impact--I want to say we've had a lot of new users since then, but it feels like we lost a lot. I think the Facebook Groups has had a pretty big impact on on forums as well...you can join a group on a specific topic and get your questions answered p...

I'm in the same boat as you--these rods tick a lot of marks, but was hoping someone would be able to share.

Re: Green tinted flouro in 5-6 lb

P-Line Halo is "mist green" and slightly tinted green. It is one of my favorite lines that I've had good success with. The only reason I don't use it still is that I was able to buy Trilene 100% at a big discount in bulk; so I'm just going through that. I've only used Daiwa J-Fluoro Samurai Hidden i...

Re: How Many Lures from One Company?

Gunfish 115, Pointer 100, and BDS 3 have been the biggest producers for me. I recently got some of the Kelly Jordan flat sides and some 2.2 BDS as well which I'll be giving a try shortly. Gunfish is something special to me, too. I've used Pointer 100 and 78, and they worked great. I don't know what...

Re: How Many Lures from One Company?

It's Lucky Craft for me--I think they are the most consistent and have great colors and variety that work. I have a drawer stockpiled of brand-new unopened baits--at least 100 in that drawer and tackle boxes full of them as well. What are your favorite Lucky Craft baits? Mine are - S8 Popper - Gunf...

Re: T Wing rusting

I've only used a Tatula in the salt one time and thought the salt might corrode the T-wing; so my Curado MGLs are the only ones that see the saltwater now.

Doesn't sound crazy, but it's also a good bit shorter of a rod. I like to have a longer rod for throwing the heavier baits--just the feels.
