Re: Your favorite Megabass series?
X4 would be my favorite. I liked the X4 line for moving baits and still have 5 rods in rotation today. I have one X7, the Super Eiger, and love it for lighter stuff. I regret not trying more rods from the X7 line and wish I tried a couple from the P5 line.

Re: What makes a good drop shot rod and which do you like?
I have a 1st generation NRX 822 DSR, a first generation Steez 7'6" MML, and a Phenix K2 TX-713ML so here is my opinion on all for drop shots. I fish a light drop shot (3/16) in relatively shallow water (12ft or less) 90% of the time. I have found that the 1st gen Steez 7'6" MML has too much power fo...

Re: What’s your spinning setup to have ready?
I have 4 setups but these 2 cover most everything for me. Phenix K2 713 ML with a Daiwa Luvias Airity 3000S-CHX. It is perfect for light drop shot fishing. So much so that it knocked my NRX DSR out of rotation. The second is a Daiwa Steez 7'6" MML (1st generation) paired with a Daiwa 2018 Exist 2500...

I catch more on the Lobina Rio Rico than all my other topwater lures combined.

Re: Fluorocarbon vs sensitivity
Flouro varies greatly between brands. Also, companies like Sunline that offer many different lines, there is quite a difference between them. I fished fluoro for years and really just buy Sniper anymore because it's a good all around line and not crazy expensive like Tatsu. Fluoro has better sensiti...

Re: Is the new Zillion the best reel made in a decade?
I voted yes. I absolutely love the way they cast, palm, and the smooth retrieve. The only negative is the bland paint color.

No. The only P5 I have is the Madbull. If you're interested in Megabass and have questions, call the Tackle Trap and ask for Gary. He is the go to person for all questions about MB rods and will steer you in the right direction.

Re: Crankbait rods...Megabass vs G.Loomis...which would you pick?
It's pretty versatile and I've thrown shallow, medium, and deep divers. It can also throw squarebills and lipless baits. I would say it shines at 3/8 to 3/4. The sweet spot for me is 1/2 oz. Like I said, I have the 1st gen xx.

Re: Crankbait rods...Megabass vs G.Loomis...which would you pick?
Megabass because I like the actions better for moving baits. I don't have 3 from one line though. I have a Gen 1 XX Flat Side Special for medium cranks, a Gen 1 XX Launcher for deep cranks, and a P5 Madbull for squarebills. The FSS will throw lipless and squarebills fine so two rods really could han...

Re: 21 Luvias Airity vs 18 Exist
I have an 18 Exist LT 2500-XH an 21 Airity LT 3000S-CXH. I can't tell the difference between the two. The price of the Airity is hard to beat. Unfortunately, I agree with what some have posted about the Airity being a limited run because Daiwa had too many 18 Exist frames and wanted to get rid of th...
