I do apologize for the late response and the issue that occured. The worm gear is made from the same material. There were no changes made to that gear.

Hi, I talked to the service department and they said it could be dry. They suggested lubricating that device. Put a drop or two of oil and move it back and foth spreading the lube around and this should help keep it from getting stuck. Give this a try and let us know how that works. I haven't seen t...

Our warranty does apply to the original owner of the rods. You can still send the rod into our service department and we can usually replace none warranty rods with a low cost replacement fee. They have not mentioned to us here in customer service about any recalls. If you are having an issue with your reel, you can send it in to our service department and we will check it out. If there is an issue and the reel is under warranty, we will service your reel and get it back to you.
