Re: NFC blanks
Awesome blanks! The IM is really good and the HM is unbelievable. If you can, try and see the blanks on a flex board. My experience was ratings were rather subjective and inconsistent even within their own linenup. If you find the right blank for you, there is little doubt you will be more than sat...

NFC blanks
Just wanted, to see what other builders thought of the NFC line up - both the regular blanks and the high modulus. I've yet to build on one due to their cost and my ignorance of their line up and ratings. I figure it may be time to try to set up a whole sale account to get better pricing (although I...

Re: New bfs rod, a few questions.
I'll throw this out there as an option. I use 1/8 oz and slightly less with casting rigs often for sea trout in the gulf. Don't under estimate the value of a custom rod in this instance. In my opinion this is one place customs can truly shine. Many spinning blanks can be converted to casting for thi...

Re: 2015 Conquest Calcutta 101 HG questions
Wiggle is 100% normal. Flip on another brake, practice a bit with heavier lures, or adjust the spool tension a bit to slow down those back lashes!

X2. That's what 50 and 50s reels are for!Pen3 wrote:I use my conquest 100 as a med-heavy duty reel and see no point in a finesse spool. There are many smaller and lighter reels for BFS mods.IAY wrote:There is avail spool for New Conquest 100 and 200 as well.

Re: SALT REELS
I just purchased that exact reel for saltwater use. Cant say Ive had it out yet (waiting to get off crutches from a leg injury), but there should be any problems with it. Im planning on breaking mine down and servicing it with Yamaha blue grease at some point, but Ill fish it till winter before I ta...

Re: Servicing a core 50, what's the best grease to use?
X2 on the Yamaha blue grease here. I use it on gears and all appropriate bearings. It slows things down a bit, but makes a real super smooth. I fish 95% salt water and have had absolutely no corrosion issues with very little maintenance after initially servicing.

Re: Conquest 50 vs 15 Conquest 100 HG
I promise youll love a 50 if buy one. Unfortunately Ive noticed they have increased in price a bit lately, but they are more than worth it! I have 2 50's and 2 50s reels. Wont part with any of them!

Re: Conquest 50 vs 15 Conquest 100 HG
X2 on the palmability. The new 100 feels slightly larger than the old 50. Definitely smaller than the old 100. Casting wise the new 100 and old 50 are different machines in my opinion - especially 3/8 oz and below. 1/4 oz and down the 50 shines and is my go to reel for a weightless fluke. I can cast...

Re: Daiwa Tatula HLC
I upgraded my old zillion with a hlc spool and tested it before and after with a 1/2 oz metal spoon. I can't remember the exact distances but do know I gained 30% casting distance vs the stock spool. The zillion hlc spool would bomb 1/2 oz and up and could match my Antares DC on distance on those we...

RDA for St Croix 5S76MF-G?
I have numbers for 7 footer, and wanted to see how this one compared. I need a new 7'6" rod in the ball park of the 7 footer and want to make sure the 7'6" is similar. Phenix 707ML, which I already own, would be perfect, but I am getting tired of waiting on Phenix blanks to get back in stock...!!! T...
