Re: Dressed Treble hooks by Travis Davies
Forgot to ask... Mind mentioning which lures you are using them on with success?

Re: Dressed Treble hooks by Travis Davies
Those look great! Already thinking about which lures could use a "tail" instead of a bare treble hook. I fish pretty clear water on the flats quite often. No way some of these could not help my presentation. Thanks for the post!!!

Best oil for spool bearings for saltwater use
90% of my fishing is on the flats in saltwater. I've used hot sauce for years due to its ability to protect against corrosion and have been happy. However I've decided it is time to start trying some different bearings and oils to try to gain just a bit more casting distance. A lot of the new high e...

Re: Conquest 50 vs Megabass Zonda 68
I have multiple conquest 50 reels. I have no problem throwing 1/8 ounce with 8# yozuri hybrid and the right rods with any of them. I also own two 50S reels that easily go under 1/8 oz, and can almost be spooled with 1/8 oz lures using 10# braid. what rod u using? I can throw a bare 1/8 oz jig head ...

Re: Castability of new 2015 conquest
Thanks for all the input guys. A 2015 conquest 100 is on the way along with a met dc. Thought long and hard about the met but I know I will always wonder until I try it! Hoping it can get down to 1/4 oz well when I need it too - we shall see! I'll post some thoughts on both, but I will be limited to...

Re: Castability of new 2015 conquest
Thanks for all the info guys. I will def be ordering a 2015 100. I thought the met DC was going to be a no brainer, but the more I research it the more I am reading it is not as long of a caster as the past DC reels. I'm now considering a second 100, or a 100 conquest DC over the met DC. Decisions d...

Re: Castability of new 2015 conquest
Lpquick - do you recommend e_bassfisher's touch on this reel, or is it good to go stock? What about spool bearings? Thanks in advance!

Re: Castability of new 2015 conquest
That's exactly what I hoped for. The plan is to use it for those exact purposes - med rod with 12# test for 3/8 to 5/8 lures. I'm sure the DC met will be great too, but I prefer variety and love the idea of a new conquest. Love those wooden knobs by the way! I'll order a met and Calcutta this weeken...

Castability of new 2015 conquest
I've read everything I can find on this reel the last few days. I have no doubts about ergonomics, quality or durability. However I was hoping to get a few first hand impressions on casting ease and distance. I am planning on ordering two reels this weekend. One will def be a DC met and I'm also wan...

Re: reel for FW and SW
A new conquest can be had for right at $350 with shipping from Japan lure shop if you are willing to max the budget. You can't by a better quality reel and it would be perfect for light salt. You can choose the size that best suits what you mainly want to do.

Re: Metanium DC or metanium 13?
Any other input out there? Planning on a fathers day gift to myself, but want to make the best decision possible. Thanks!
Specifically, can anyone speak on the ability of either to handle weightless flukes on the right rod?

Re: MH Setup help
Just my 2 cents but you will be hard pressed to beat the conquest for light inshore fishing. I'm planning on ordering a met DC this week, but I can't imagine I will find it to be superior to a conquest. I have an Antares dc7 already and love it, which is why I'm trying a met DC but I don't consider ...
