Thread color
Anyone ever matched any thread to the black and copper colored daiwa T3 SV 8.1TW? Have one of these reels on the way and want to build a rod in a matching color scheme. Thanks in advance!

Re: Metanium DC or metanium 13?
Never used the standard model, but the DC is a fine fishing reel. Very easy to control, very refined, very comfortable to fish with, and very nice looking. The DC or Spool isn't quite as good as the Conquest 100DC+ I have, but it is pretty close. Could be the difference in line though. DaveJ Do you...

Are weightless flukes too light for this reel?

Metanium DC or metanium 13?
Not worrying about cost, any opinions out there on which you would buy if you could only have 1?

Re: Pro Kote Thread Finish Issue
Thanks for the feedback! This batch looks perfect on the old blank I applied it to last night and set up well. I'll be putting it on a new build later. Thanks!

Re: Pro Kote Thread Finish Issue
Goes on very easily for me with virtually no bubbles. A much better overall finish - clearer and no bubbles than the flex coat I use to use. It also gives a longer working time so I can do a whole rod at once. It is a "medium" build that typically works in one coat on the guides but doesn't get too ...

Pro Kote Thread Finish Issue
Not sure what everyone else is using these days, but Ive used Pro Kote on my last 25 rods or so and love it. However, I just opened up a new batch and the resin was very cloudy, thick, and never mixed properly with the hardener. I made a few calls and was told this was a rare, but not unheard of pro...

Japan lure shop experiences???
Was hoping to here a bit of feedback from people that have purchased from this vendor. I am currently recovering from a torn Achilles tendon and feel a few reel purchases may be the best possible medicine! Their prices are terrific, but I wanted to make sure they were legit. Anybody use their pay pa...

Shimano Aldebaran thoughts
Wanted to see what any current owners of the new Aldebaran thought of the reel. I am strongly considering one to add to my arsenal. I am hoping it would be a more refined upgrade for a souped up Sol I currently use for fishing flukes and other weightless plastics. I would love to hear any opinions a...

Re: Custom worth the $$?
I agree with everything said, but will make one more point... There is no such thing as only building a few custom rods. Every time you build you will gain experience and skill, which will lead to the desire to build a rod better than the last. It is very hard to be completely satisfied with the fir...

The Mud Hole sell got my curiosity up as well. Im more concerned about durability than weight. Any one have any ideas on durability yet?

C clip removal and re-install
What tool/tricks are all of you do it yourselfers out there using to remove and reinstall the various C clips found inside of your reels? I recently started servicing my own reels, and the C clips are giving me fits. Thanks in advance to anyone who can save me a few headaches! - Craig
