Re: What is the Tatula SV of rods?
A few pics of Zondas and IS reels on Hyuga rods confirm that "Daiwa SLP Purple" is a close, but not exact, match for the purple on the Hyuga. I've seen current iteration Royal purple on the Hyuga and it does not match at all. Too "pink" in color. I will confirm this, the Daiwa stock Purple on an sv...

Re: Polarized Sunglasses for low light conditions
Huh, I have a pair of rose polychromatic ignitors and I find them to be way darker than my old yellow high contrast Costas. They are decent enough for driving glasses or foe super bright days, but I find them too darkly tinted for cloudy conditions.

Re: Small Swimbait Rod Choice
I picked up a Hyuga 72H a month ago for more or less the same purpose, but also soft swimbaits in the same range. I do not have a lot of time on the water with it yet and no catches to speak of, but I love how it casts and fishes pretty much every lure in the 1/2 to 2.5oz range I have tried it with....

Re: Reel for Diablo Spec-R
What are the gear options for an sv103? I have a 7.9 that I would not mind slowing down, I think I fell too hard into "faster = better" and I don't want to replace reels.

Mine didn't come up nearly as well, but I am not a great photographer in the first place.
The deeper purple on the bumpers matches the rod pretty closely and the Royal purple parts are a nice contrast I think.

I have a sv103 with both deep and royal purple on my Hyuga, if you would like I can try to get some pics tomorrow when the sun comes out.LowRange wrote:How well does the purple on the Hyuga match the Daiwa SLP purple? Are they the same shade of purple?

Re: YouTube EnjoyFishing !!!!
I am so glad I bought a little dope scale before I got to serious about finesse fishing. It was really eye opening to start weighing lures and I am glad I didn't buy a bunch of gear based on what I thought all these little lures weighed.

Re: YouTube EnjoyFishing !!!!
It's hard to get much below 1/8oz if you are using plastics, even a 3" senko and a tiny wacky hook is weight in at .142oz, so a little over 1/8oz. A J5 Rapala is .126oz, even a tiny little SK Bitsy Minnow is like .083oz, so in between 1/16-1/8oz. People seem to think their fish are heavier and their...

Re: The Megabass Hyuga should be way more popular than what they're.
I picked up the heavy casting model a few weeks before ice out and only had a few days to play with it, but so far I am impressed. It casts well with a huge range of lures, from a ~1/2oz frog to a ~2.5oz BBZ Rat. The rat produces a ton of resistance on the retrieve but the rod handles it like a cham...

Re: 13 Fishing Concept Z
Is there a list of the bearing sizes that will be available? I have a coworker who dabbles in RC cars and he and I have bearing-chat on occasion and he was interested in these new ball-less bearings for his little cars.
Edit, answered my own dumb question;

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods
Got to handle a few of the Conquests yesterday, I now kinda want to sell my new-ish GLX 783MBR for the same spec Conquest. It is amazing how such a trivial difference in butt length can change the feel of a rod. In the end I don't think it is enough of a difference for how much money I would lose on...

Re: (SUL) Super Ultra Light?
I know a lot of people love the litte trout jig, however I find the hook the problem, as I like even an UL jig to have a bigger gap. Yes, I now only use them for panfish, perch, and in very small streams where a 1lb bass is a monster. I have caught a few smallies in the 1-2lb range on them, but it ...

Re: Shimano’s Curado K Baitcaster : More than Black and White
That is good to hear, I am really interested in the lineup, I am glad to see that it seems like full cork rods are making a comeback in popularity. The IMX pro pretty much replaces the middle of the G.Loomis lineup which used to have a bunch of different series rods to pick from. I had only started ...
