Re: Braided line bad for your rods and reels?

You'll be fine.

That business about the Zillion rods being different has to be wrong. The only difference at all is the -K at the end of the model number and I'm sure that's just for warranty purposes.

Re: 2020 Zillion 10

I actually like the current mag dial. I can adjust it one-handed and I guess I palm it the right way to not notice it.

Re: 2020 Zillion 10

Well, the 9.1's don't seem to have a problem with longevity when maintained correctly. I wouldn’t expect the pinion to break and not be able to do it’s job anymore - but don‘t you feel the higher the gear ratio the quicker a reel feels geary and develops that buzzing vibration? That has not been my...

I'll be obligated to get one just because I love the platform and it looks freakin' sweet if nothing else.

I always had a thing for glass. When you absolutely need a do all treble hook rod IMHO
I don't know. IMHO It's not much fun for walking baits or anything where the rod is used to impart the action.

Re: TDZ 100M and SV Light

It's a lot like a ZPI spool in that respect. My mind was similarly blown. I feel like it's a great caster for BFS-Mag Finesse stuff in general but dealing with the wind is definitely where it really shines. I don't know if the magnets are different from the Steez/SS, but I'm thinking they must be. I...

I don't have one, but I think the Destroyer Carbon Head Hein may be the rod you're in search of.

Re: Show off your BFS Casting Reels

My greatest wish is for me to “be OK” with mixing ABU/Daiwa/Shimano reels and rods - it would make my life easier and my wallet thicker... Same here. I have wished for that same thing many times. Since I swap reels from Shimano to Daiwa and back so often I've had to resort to only buying rods that ...

Super cool. Looks like it would taste great! That has to be a stream rod, right?

Re: —Daiwa Catalina TW 4.9:1–

Does it have an aluminum or Zaion handle side plate? Aluminum. This reel is solid, smooth, and refined. I'm very impressed with it at this point. Here's some translated text from the Daiwa Japan site. ■ Robust super metal housing The handle side plate, main frame, and brake set plate are metalized....

Re: How many rods/reels do you actually use

Regardless of the number you actually use (personally, I've taken 14 combos with me for a day trip and used every single one of them), unless you are fishing to catch food or win money, you'll never stop wanting to try new tackle. In other words, if you fish purely for the enjoyment of it, then the ...

Yes, yes! Really wishing for ct sv tw Zillion. And 70 Size Magforce Z spool. Magforce V might be good in 70 size also.
I thought the only difference was the shape of the arbor. Is there something besides that to differentiate Z from V?

Re: Bearings

If you go HH, the Airs are for casting UL-M baits up to around 3/4oz and max out at 1oz. The HD's will go from very light (not quite as light as the Airs) to presumably as heavy as you want to go. The Air bfs bearings have micro balls like the original airs, but are steel instead of ceramic and are ...
