Re: Steez SV TW frame swap
the frame on my steez A is aluminum and heavy AF. Really?? Wow. I certainly wouldn’t call the Steez A heavy by comparison to other reels. You might save 1 - 1.2oz going to the Steez SV TW but IMO will be hardly noticeable in your hand. What rod are you putting it on? Often times a tip heavy rod wil...

Re: We really not gonna talk about the new 2020 Ultima 172H “full carbon triangle grip”?
I have a few Ultima rods, one of them being the 172H and they are incredible. That new grip and blank on the 172H has me thinking about getting another.

Re: Steez Racing Design 701MH / HXB-ST
I’m really tempted to pull the trigger on the new RD hustler solid tip. I’m debating between the solid tip model and the regular hustler technical tune. I have a poison Ultima 172H that I feel fishes more like a MH. I’m wondering if the regular hustler technical tune would have similar power and tap...

Re: Evergreen Rapid Gunner RSR
Nice taper! As the load increases, does the blank progressively bend toward the butt section or does it shut off at a certain point?

Re: Evergreen Rapid Gunner RSR
Can't wait to hear more about this rod. One thing I'm wondering before I make the plunge is the differences in the guide size between the RSR model and the HD? I also assume the blanks are the exact same between RSR and HD?

Re: MB Destroyer Javelin vs Poison Adrena MH
The Javelin is my favourite in the casting lineup for the destroyers. It certainly is very versatile and good at almost everything in its weight range. Also, I find it has great sensitivity too.

893C would be perfect for this. The 893C is also the sensitivity king IMO.

Re: Medium Heavy Spinning Rods
Take a look at the Megabass destroyer brigand F4-74XS Excellent rod and lots of power. It’s slightly faster in action to the XX enforcer. I ended up selling the enforcer as I realize I hate the feel of a spinning rod with a front locking nut.

Re: High end frog rod: heavy-ish surface veg
Since you asked about the 71H Steez AGS, it is another excellent jig rod that I like for close quarters pitching primarily. This one is of course light, well balanced, very sensitive, and loads up nicely for pitching. I've sold a few other similar rods I've had after fishing this one quite a bit. H...

Re: Glx 893c vs. Nrx 893c
I have had the NRX 893C for 5 years and is my favorite from that lineup. I'm not crazy about the NRX real seat as I find it somewhat uncomfortable. However I am more than willing to deal with that as the 893C has amazing sensitivity and I like the action for my intended purposes. I bought the GLX a ...

Re: Heavy cover frogging and flipping - DX746C or Expride 73XH?
That Dobyns cant hold a candle to the Expride in terms of sensitivity. That's why he was using it as a frog rod. I've read that the Champion Extreme line is pretty sensitive though. I had an Expride, 6'8MXF spinning and it was very sensitive as far as I remember, but I feel like Dobyns should...
Re: Ned Rod
I see there is a 7-2” ML Shimano expride casting rod. I would put bets on that one being good for 1/8oz or less Neds.

Re: X7 Super Eiger Equivalents
The X7 super eiger is one fine rod. It's my favorite from the X7 line and my favorite all time ML casting rod. As for comparison with current available rods on the market, I would take a look at either the Daiwa Steez Racing Design 6101ML+ or the Poison Ultima 1610L-BFS. Now, not owning either of th...

Re: High end JDM rod recommendations
Take a hard look at the Ultima's. I have the 170MH and 172H and they are at the top of my collection and an absolute joy to fish for very many techniques. If I could afford more of them, I would get a couple more.
