Re: Fuji's new thinner SIC insert

Fuji has tested TORZITE® against SiC for "toughness" and "fracture resistance" and TORZITE® has tested about 30% better in both categories. But here's he interesting thing. I have yet to see Fuji or anyone else quantify the characteristic that seems most important...resiliency. TORZITE® bounces when...

Re: Fuji limited remake of Ruby guides

Just returned from a trip to Japan for the annual Fuji meet and greet and spent a day at the Japan Fishing Show in Yokohama. Ruby guides were on display and more stunning in person than any photo could capture. The display was a complete selection of RV's but if I remember correctly they can actuall...

Re: Smaller Spinning Reels

Pairing a reel with a rod layout is often the difference between good and GREAT performance. According to the experts (the Fuji engineers I have had the pleasure of working with for many years now), there are three primary factors to consider in determining the "rough" layout of any rod - and they a...

Re: ETERNITY²

The POINT Blank line pretty much starts at fast and just gets faster. With top notch transitional power into the lower section.

Re: Point Blank 761MF blank comparison ??

No problems I know of, I throw 1/4 oz jigs with this blank all the time. With a plastic grub added I'm sure I'm in that range.

Re: Point Blank 761MF blank comparison ??

I'm sure you're waiting for an "unbiased" opinion but I'll offer this anyway. I use the PB761MF with a popping cork that weighs about an ounce and the blank handles it easily. Soft enough tip to keep a live shrimp on a small treble yet plenty of power to land fish up to 20-pounds. I've also had feed...

Re: Anybody know of any future additions to Point Blank?

Thanks toddmc. The PB731 trimmed from the butt to 7 ft would put you about a full power (100 grams) heavier I'm guessing. Around 550.

Re: Rda numbers confusing this guy

I'd probably drop down to the PB691MXF, 440 power. It will handle 1/2 oz.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/0ydywr0h359fdhd/PB701MHF.jpg?dl=0 For future reference here is the bend of the PB701MHF with 525 grams of weight hanging off the tip. The yellow tip is the production blank, the red tip is a "control". You can see from the bend that the casting load is pretty precise, occu...

Re: Anybody know of any future additions to Point Blank?

POINT Blank is doing fine. We have a lot of competition at the top end but "the few" at the top are quickly learning that POINT Blank is truly a different animal with a lot going for it. We have just approved an 8ft model for production that we feel will make a good "big crank" blank although I can'...

Re: Rda numbers confusing this guy

Hog, ain't nothing moderate about any POINT Blank. I certainly don't want to scare away a customer but I think Matt would agree with what I'm saying. I don't want you to expect a nice deep, smooth bend and then discover that POINT Blank is a Ferrari in the top half and a 4X4 in the butt. The numbers...

Re: Rda numbers confusing this guy

Good blank choice Hog. Send me an email and I'll save a jpg that will show the bend of the blank you chose. Not on the web yet. The 701MH is pretty stout, some have described the PB as a tip capable of throwing small lures with workhouse power behind it in the lower section. I would agree with that ...
