Good review
Ive used this on a crank rod rated to 3/4 oz and while the rod obviously could barely handle the weight, the resistance from the bait really wasnt overpowering even when it reached 18 fow.

Re: Tatula vs new Fuego?
I have 3 tatulas and a t3. T3 palms the best of those 4.....but not even close to as comfortable as my tdz. Do I hate twing? No. Can I live without it for a lower price tag, more bearings and a better spool? Without a doubt. I imagine that if daiwa is to keep their twing baby, they must be working o...

Re: Tatula vs new Fuego?
Im probably going to get the fuego for my new crank rod. More bearings, lighter weight and better spool.
Twing is pretty much a gimmick that made their reels uncomfortable to palm and killed the zillion line. There is a reason the steez pixy and sv105 has typical line guide.

Budget Cranking Rod
Im looking for a cranking rod between $100 and $150 dollars for throwing mostly the spro little john series with the occassional baby DD and DD. I mostly throw the MD (dives to about 8 feet). Im a coangler and a kayaker. I'm looking for a rod that has an action that is roughly 40-50% of blank. My cu...

Re: Tat711mhrb v 721mhrb
Ive read that the 721g (glass) is same way. Flexible glass tip but shuts off to a powerful butt about modfast.
I saw a diagram of the slightly older ballistic rods and they had a glass cranking model. The picture showed a glass tip but more graphite section about 65-70% up the rod.

Re: Tat711mhrb v 721mhrb
Ive thrown it on the 771 very carefully.
I have the frog rod in the team daiwa s rod and I was planning to use that. A mh rod rated to 1oz should handle it though.

Re: Tat711mhrb v 721mhrb
Im just looking for a cranking rod. The glass are more expensive. I have the 771 as okie knows and I just dont like the length and the fact it struggles with big cranks. Thinking of buying the 701ML for my spro johns but the 721 or 711 regular actions could probably handle when i want to toss the jo...

Tat711mhrb v 721mhrb
Does anyone have any insight on the difference between the daiwa tatula 7'1" mediumheavy regular action rod and the 7'2" medium heavy regular action rods (outside the obvious one inch)? Tacklewarehouse labels the 711 as a cranking rod but all the specs are the same outside the length. Why have two r...
