my daiwa tatula 6'10" MHF is the best all around rod i've ever used. i have plenty of other higher end rods that beat it out at one application or another, but if i was to need just one rod to pull multiple duties it would be the tatula.

BPS really never has anything worthwhile on sale and the one closest to me has more clothes, toys and trinkets than anything fishing related. cabela's is ok though, when they have stuff on sale or the rare bargain cave find they're pretty good price wise.

rather than the power/action specifics, since you know they vary by brand, i'd look at the rod lure ratings. something that goes around 1/8-1/2 or 1/8-5/8 would be good because anything heavier you can go to the 734 you already have. either a fast or an extra fast action would be best for the single...

if you use google chrome it'll translate the page for you. at the top right of the screen it will ask if you want to translate and it usually does a pretty fine job of making it intelligible.
