Re: Samurai braid?

I've used 30 lb Samurai for jig fishing the past few years and it's my favorite braid. I do more pitch like casting and it works great, no dig in problems. Haven't used it for applications where longer distances are involved. Initially it's expensive, but I've used the same spool during that time so...

Re: Something for fun.. your favorite JDM Daiwa Baitcaster

My ito 103m is by far my favorite followed by the PX68 and Light. The ito with upgraded bearings, drag and handle is an absolute pitching machine.

Re: Lew's Tournament Pro Speed Spool

I saw the Lew's Speed Spool (intro model) at a local shop last nite. Felt like a pretty solid/smooth little reel. I really like the handle knobs, they have a soft rubber texture and are very comfortable.

Re: Custom rod by R.W. Rod on ebay

I purchased a 6'8" MXF LE, (brown blank) from him this summer. No foregrip, split handle, Fuji alconite guides. Excellent work, fast shipper, well packaged, good communication. Very pleased with the transaction. Dan

Re: Can't catch a fish on a jig.. ahhhh

Jig fishing is my favorite technique. For shallow water, Senkoman has it nailed. I too like to use black/blue jigs with Zoom salty chunk or big salty chunk trailers in either black or black/blue. I have a ton of jigs in different colors but have found black and blue in 1/4 to 3/8 oz works best for m...

Re: Your Favorite(s) JDM tackle 1 year or more later

I primarily fish jigs in deep weedlines. Over the last couple years I've bought, tried and sold most of the high end reels including Pixy, Steez, Antares DC, Alphas, Light I'ze and still find the TD ito 103 to be my favorite. Dan

Re: Shimano Cumara 7'2" Med Hvy Ex-fast.

Mine arrived on Thursday, gave it a good test as I was at our family cabin over the weekend. We had cool rainy weather Sat and Sunday but the fishing was great. Used a 3/8 oz jig exclusively on it and had a great jig bite, I caught around 45 bass using 3/8 oz Veritcal X jigs on 12 lb Gamma Edge on a...

Re: Steez and TD-Z spool questions..

Mark,

It will fit in both. I had a Steez with a ZPI spool and found it to be a little easier to manage than the stock spool. Maybe not quite the casting distance, but a little less touchy than the stock spool. Dan

Re: Mattlures BG

I live in WI and have been wondering the same thing. I have some buddies that have caught some nice bass throwing large baits musky fishing, so I think it's worth a try. Trying to decide what size to throw.

Splash-you're right , it does suck! Bass officially opens the 1st Sat of May on the majority of lakes here in WI. Dan
