Re: New St. Croix Bass Rod
I went and checked out the new victory rods today at TTT. I threw my 6.2oz alphas on to check the balance point of a few models. 90FC3298-633E-498E-84A9-2536C1A2D22D.jpeg 7’1”MHF 5DA3B7C3-FA0B-4079-80E6-F710B7333E91.jpeg 7’4”HF 33C92616-9B5C-4EEE-9A82-4415DD3EF615.jpeg 7’3HXF Overall they felt very...

Re: New St. Croix Bass Rod
Interesting. All of the rods coming out on launch are longer than I normally like, so I guess I'll have to wait and see what the rest are. Maybe they will have a 6'8" MF for all-around use. Would be a nice bushwhacking rod.

Re: Kistler rods?
Maybe this is Trey taking a step back, trying to improve profit margins, intending to hand over production to someone else and spend more time fishing and with family. If sales are lower due to the increased prices that might be fine with him. It is unfortunately a watering down of the brand with th...

Re: Kistler rods?
Lol. Looks like Kistler heard that most people wouldn't buy one of their rods at full price, so they just upped the price so the sale prices are higher too. It would've taken a lot for me to be a guinea pig for one of the new rods at the old price, let alone the new price. Welp, good thing I'm not i...

Re: Zillion sv TW 1000
I'll take Booty on his word that 8 is the lowest he could go. He casts like me which is a very hard whip cracking like casts that favors centrifugal brakes. I think I mentioned it earlier in one of the 5 million pages in this thread. But yeah, with lighter pound fluorocarbon, I couldn't get the set...

Re: Zillion sv TW 1000
It's Bootytrain. He's a former member and huge Shimano fan boy. He used to get triggered all the time on here an BR so he created his own YT channel. He uses some of his own reels like his engetsu and claims a subscriber sent it to him. He does do budget BFS stuff and aliexpress parts which is good...

Re: Which knob style do you generally prefer on a spinning reel?
I was a paddle knob fan but I finally got a Stradic Ci4+ 3000 and I've been liking the T knob. I take my hand off the knob a fair amount of time when I'm letting a bait sit or as I'm slowly dragging or hopping it. When a fish bites I gotta jerk my hand back to the reel and sometimes I can't quite fi...

Re: Ultimate weightless senko and 1/4-3/8oz jig rod
If only looking at sensitivity the NRX 893 is as good as I have fished for jigs and unweighted senkos. YEah, from a pure USDM sensitivity point of view, the NRX 893c is the choice. But for some reason I want to try something new that also has a bit more sex-appeal (together with the 2019 Antares) t...

Re: Kistler rods?
That's one of the things I loved about Kistler the most, the fact that it was all made in the USA. So much stuff is made in China these days and I really don't want to support their economy if I can avoid it. A shame. It doesn't mean I won't buy rods from them in the future, but I have less reason t...

Re: 2020 Zodias
I got my warranty replacement today. They replaced my 6'8MLMF (ZDS268ML) with the new 6'9MLF (ZDS69MLA). The new 6'9 has to be a different blank entirely. It doesn't feel nearly as whippy, it's a bit stiffer and is probably more for jigs/worms/dropshot than moving baits which is what I loved the pre...

Re: Ultimate weightless senko and 1/4-3/8oz jig rod
Is the Zbone really so lacking in sensitivity that you truly think it can be improved upon? Or are you really just wanting to see if it gets any better? Every report I've read says they're neck and neck with the NRX line with only minor differences.

Re: New St. Croix Bass Rod
not sure i understand the heavy guides throws off the balance thing. I like both Loomis and St. Croix but I know with my Loomis spinning rods they are balanced properly and the guides are normal?? Is St. Croix not designing the rods properly? I hope these new rods offer some longer lengths if they ...

Re: New St. Croix Bass Rod
Gotta say I am not excited. Clearly not an Avid X replacement as it has giant crappy guides on the spinning rod. Yes, I am a guide snob, but if you can't put Fuji KLH guides (or even kigan copy) on a rod over $200, something is wrong. When the guides weigh 2-3 times as much as they should, it throw...

Re: New St. Croix Bass Rod
Seems like a new Avid X. What's interesting is that some of the rods shown seem to have an EVA foregrip/lock nut like Kistler, but other rods have cork foregrips. I'm not sure what to make of it. But they have my attention.
