Re: Sunline asegai line diameter
The Asegai 50lb is one of the thickest I have used. Consistently Spooled a Chronarch 151 on a frog rod, had to switch back to 50lb Performance Braid to prevent spooling. That reel holds 75yds of the PB, nowhere near that on the Asegai. I was able to use the rest of the Asegai spool on a 201K throwi...

Sunline asegai line diameter
Spooled up a CT-R with 50lb. Asegai, tied on a trap, soon as I got it dialed in, started spooling the reel. Got home and measured the line, 153 ft. had another CT-R spooled with 50lb. Spiderwire Stealth, 210 ft. Both filled to "normal" levels. The Asegai is .015, the Spiderwire is .014. Would .001 a...

Re: Sensitive jig rod
Probably should start another topic but is it frowned upon to put a lower end reel on a mid to high end rod? (Not in a snobby way but as far as getting the most out of setup) I see most people putting steez reels on the bottom contact but I was thinking about throwing a tatula elite on it until I f...

Re: Rod suggestions
Was looking into the Z Bone, good looking rod. Spec’d out a custom build to get the length in a 2 power I like, kinda wish for that money the locking nut was nicer but maybe not a deal breaker. Do the GLX 802 and 842 fish the same? I prefer a somewhat shorter rod. Also are the Z Bones a true fast t...

Re: Rod suggestions
I have a 2 power Z-Bone that does all that stuff quite well. Very sensitive as well. Was just reading up on the latest x-ray blank version of this rod yesterday, and thought this might be a great candidate for what FinesseAngler is looking for: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewkistlerzb3lmh73.html T...

Re: Decisions
The world will sort itself out, always does. Since you own an Antares A, one would think you need the perfect rod to go with it.

Re: Plastic broken piece inside SV Spool
When you take the spool apart, work inside a plastic bag, those small parts are prone to try and get away.

A big plastic bag, like the ones you get from a dry cleaner. Don't ask how I know.

Re: Spool options for IP68
I have an unaltered IP79. The magnets are stock and I have a PE spool in it. I really don’t have any issues with it. It’s mounted on a power versatile rod and will flick a lure 3/8oz. I took the stock spool and dropped it in a tuned TDZ 100–M. So for clarity I have two 100M reels. One has the zilli...

Re: Spool options for IP68
I thought the IP spool was supposed to be awesome. Are the magnets in the IP extra strong? It's a good spool, just not a long caster, at least for me. The stock IP spool is identical to a J-Dream spool but the magnets in the IP reels are stronger than in a Zillion, that's why you're feeling like it...
