Re: Punching Rods....Help me find the one.
I have a 2019 Kistler zbone 7'10H that is very very good for intended application. I'd say the rod is a more moderate action but to me it fishes like a fast action- feels similar to my NRX 894 with a bit longer and a bit stronger. bought it to punch but have been fishing it with heavy t-rigs as the...

Re: ALX ENOX rods
No idea what's in it, but the BMJ is a surprisingly sensitive stick. Easily my favorite rod and it's not close. what rods r u comparing it to? NRX 843 853, BJ PV, Orochi XX, Expride make up the rest of my rotation. That definitely puts things into perspective... I've been eyeing the Enox since it's...

Re: Punching Rods....Help me find the one.
If you want something less glamorous, you can't go wrong with iRod's AIR IRA7104PRG-H . This stick was spec'd by Bub Tosh, who makes part of his living by punching on the CA Delta on the way to top finishes on the CA Delta year after year. Lastly... if custom is your style or even not, Kistler's He...

Power Tackle PGC170 - What rod blank??
Does anyone have any insights on what blank Power Tackle uses fro their PGC170 Glass cranking rod? I believe they use NFC for their non glass blanks. Seeker? Rod Geeks?

Re: Falcon Cara Head Turner Casting Rod
I put my hands on the new lowriders a week or so ago. I was definitely not impressed, to the point of being disappointed. The guides, while fuji k frames, were very weak and easy to bend. Not sure what metal they are, but I can easily see them getting bent and breaking off. Overall fit and finish wa...

Shimano Expride 172H-FR Question
Earlier this year I picked up a first generation Expride 172H-FR (7'-2") from a local sportsman show and want to know if anyone is familiar with this specific rod. It actually has FROG labeled on the blank. I like the rod, and clearly they were trying to clear out leftover first gen rods as I got it...

Shimano Expride Mod
I have some gen 1 expride rods, but never liked not having a hook hanger. I tried some of the hook hangers you strap to the blank with rubber rings, and really didn't care for those and didn't have much luck with them. So I took a 1/8" drill bit and made a hook hanger on the reel seat trigger. Works...

Re: More Parabolic Punch Rod
I posted about this rod in punching thread but deserves to be mentioned again here if you’re still looking or want another. New zbone 76 heavy MOD. Parabolic, ultra sensitive, and just addicting when you pick it up and starting flipping, punching what have you. Best rod I’ve ever used for those app...

That's great, glad I could help. I wish I would have paid more attention to the handle length increase... i would have went with the 7'-3" model as well.

Re: Jig Rod Recomendation
I took this pic for another member to help show the loading characteristics of the MH. This is the new Z-bone MH 7' model. Was a little hard to capture by myself, but if it helps anyone out... here ya go. It's labeled modified fast, to me its between fast and moderate fast if that makes any sense. h...

Re: Jig Rod Recomendation
I don't believe I've seen anyone post about the new zbone 7'3 and that is a shame. If it is better then the older model with just a little bit less heat in the tip then indeed it would be the bomb. I ordered a few of the new Z-bones in December... really wish I would have put the 7-3H in my cart to...

Re: 7.1 or 7.3 ft rod for hollow bodied frogs
I'm using a 7'3H powered rod but the reason is the tip & power it has. I use a Kistler HE3. Walks the frog well, relatively accurate rod, loads slowly and a ton of power. I would also second the HE3 H.... I have been using the 7' version. To me, this is the perfect chatterbait rod, but works well o...
