Re: New reel advise for GLX MH
I don't think many would argue over using a metanium for bottom contact. I use the metanium 13's in highest gear ratio (8:5), which allows me to be very efficient on the water when pitching or casting bottom contact lures. I added a few Chronarch MGL's this season and so far I've very impressed. Can...

Would this also apply to the met13's?BRONZEBACK32 wrote:That you can add a bearing to the the worm shaft on the Metanium MGL?
I do not know the exact measurement size but I think its 4x7x2.5, its the same as the line roller bearing on the shimano spinning reels.

Re: 853c Loomis in GLX or NRX
I have the GLX 853c (2017) paired up with a met 13. Excellent combo with great balance, sensitivity and power. So far, i've used 15-17# fluoro to pitch soft plastics with 1/4 to 3/8oz weights to timber and shoreline cover. The new GLX is comfortable to fish... i've never been a fan of the reel seat ...

Re: U-40 cork sealer and handles with lots of filler
I started using U-40 a few years back and have been very pleased with the results. First thing I do now when I get a rod. I've used it on older rods where i've cleaned up the cork and added new filler.
With the amount of money we spend new rods with high end cork grips... it's a no brainer

Re: G Loomis DEEP Cranking Rod
Gary, how do you feel about the 906 for 5xd and 6xd crank baits? In general, do you like the Loomis crank bait rods for deep runners?

Couldn't pass it up... G Loomis GLX
I've been using Kistler for some time now and very pleased with their product. This weekend I was at Fishing Tackle Unlimited's annual salesman sample and tent sale in Houston and the boys from Shimano had a nice spread of goodies... I came across four rods that I couldn't resist. 852C JWR 852C JWR ...

Re: Kistler helium 3 Heavy 7'3"
I have a zbone 7'-3" H and it's much different than the 7' H H3. To me the zbone 7'-3" is a truer extra fast action rod. It makes a nice jig rod.DavidSA wrote:thanks, the HE3 model and higher end model in this length and power have my eye.

If an upgrade is not coming soon, you would think it's coming at some point. Why not? MGL is my bet. They still have the citica if they need a price point reel, and plenty of entry point reels.
