Re: Which 2 rods and reels are you guys going to mainly use this season?
Down in South Florida it's all season, fresh, salt so hard to pick just two. Yesterday it was the Antares HG with Yumeya spool on a 7' Kistler He3 LMH and MGXtreme on a Jackson Super Trickster STC-64L. The Met HGs also see a lot of use.

Re: Which 2 rods and reels are you guys going to mainly use this season?
Well there goes my idea for a jig rod... yesterday I was on Plat and I did something that my wife would probably leave me for if she finds out LOL. Hopfully I can get to the mail before she does... Ha, know the feeling. Last month my wife intercepted the mailman delivering a reel and I walked...

Re: Ten Dollar Rod Travel Tube
Thanks Guys! I'm not very artistic but the voices in my head won't quit until it's done. The first one just has stickers and it looks good, holds up to a 6'8" as we've become used to fishing shorter rods in the Amazon with the heavier lures that throw farther. I had to make the second one to accommo...

Ten Dollar Rod Travel Tube
With a few 3" PVC shipping tubes in the attic and not a fan of the expandable plastic travel case after a broken tip, it was off to Home Depot. All it took was a slip end cap and a slip to thread end cap with plug with a piece of Kevlar cord and leader bead so it swivels freely. Two circles cut from...

Re: Bone Travel Rods
Yeah, did three Brazil trips in the last two years and going to Colombia in nine days.
I would have to agree that these rods are way underrated as to power, the Combat Beast is a brute.

Bone Travel Rods
These 6'6"s break down to 24" total in the case, 3 piece rods with removable handles. I've been throwing various lure sizes in the back yard lake getting ready for a Colombia Amazon trip in ten days and am really impressed. The Voyage H weighs 4.5 ounces so not terrible, I believe my 6'8" MB Super O...

Re: Orochi XXX
I've fished the Super Orochi for a few days now and really love it. It balances perfect with a little heavier reel (Antares), the "regular" action is great, not too whippy which was a concern. It will probably go to Brazil in December, plenty of backbone for big peas on jerk baits to follow the topw...

Re: Medium light Helium 3 casting
I have the He3 in LMH Fast, my all around favorite rod. The only ML Kistler I have is the Mag2 Fast, paired with a Revo MGXtreme and 20# braid, should be similar, 1/4 oz is no problem - still playing with 1/8 oz, might have to keep a little spinner around.

Re: Combat Stick
I ordered the 7'1" Medium and the 7'11" Heavy as soon as i saw the ad. Another non fan of the camo, have been googling "how to dye eva". The great thing about Tackle Warehouse, they said "If you don't like it, send it back". The plan is to use the 7'11" with a TranX 400 for beach fishing, I know tha...

Re: metanium mgl ?'s
Just sold a 3 year old Stingray that I had done when it was brand new, the front bumper took a good rock hit. The bra material was dinged, I used a hair dryer and removed the bra - paint was perfect underneath it. I haven't removed any from a reel yet, probably won't ever need to but the paint on th...

Re: Mars Kayu and Somasi Rods
He uses different rods in different videos. There's one "Gong Lei Casting In The Woods" that is a great tutorial. Just watch a few times and you'll be casting like that... yeah, sure. I haven't heard back from them on those rods, in the meantime just ordered a M 7'1" and a H 7'11" Evergreen because ...

Re: metanium mgl ?'s
I got my first MGL XG lefty shortly after they hit and immediately ordered two more of the same. To me they're magic, I even like the looks just fine. They're all on Kistlers; a Mag 2 ML, a Mag 2 LMH and a Helium 3 LMH. Even though I like Winn grips a lot, the Helium 3 with traditional cork handles ...

Re: Mars Kayu and Somasi Rods
I've been debating ordering a few of the new Keebow rods, the heavier Mars Kayu for a TranX 400 and the Mars Somasi just because they get $130 shipping for 1 to 4 rods. Yeah, too much time spent watching Gong Lei hefting 12 pounders into a dugout. The Kayu is spiral wrapped and I really like the on...
