Re: Micros for a Swimbait Rod?

Is that a limitation of the micros or of the specific guide frame you used?

Re: What's the worst reel that you regularly fish with...

Of the baitcaster reels I use, I would likely say that either my Viento or my Supertuned Advantage is probably my 'worst'.

I don't have the high end stuff that many on here have, but not bad in my estimation.

Re: Building custom rods ...?

I found my excuse to start building custom rods by building a bunch for my groomsmen as their gifts. I had started wanting to build because I wanted to have something that was unique and balanced. This provided me a way of fulfilling those requirements. I was also able to build some very nice rods f...

Custom Light Saber Rod

So, I finished my wife's custom rod. Being a Star Wars nerd, I made her a light saber fishing rod. unfortunately, I could not figure out a way to include lights or sounds. However, it has a sparkly paint job. Here are the details of the rod: blank - MHX MB783 grip - eva foam (portions wrapped in x f...

Re: Help Me Smooth out My drag

You should only relube the washers if they were lubed to begin with. If they are a dry washer system, you should keep them dry. I agree with polishing the metal washers to make them more smooth and to allow for a shudder free startup. I also second the recommendation for Carbontext drags (These I wo...

Difference between TD-X 103h airmetal and td-z 103h

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone can confirm any other differences between the 2 models aside from bearings? I am assuming that the difference of 5 bearings are in the handle knobs (4) and worm?

Thanks!

Re: Carbontex drag upgrade

i WAS TOLD THAT TO GET THE MOST OUT OF THE UP GRADE TO LIGHTLY SAND THE CARBON WASHERS, AND REPLACE THE SPACER AND SAND IT AS WELL AND REPLACE THE 2 SPRING WASHERS. I am not sure about sanding the carbon washers. The metal washers can be sanded to improve performance by creating a completel...

No pics of my tackle, but I really like those swimbaits. Who do you get to make them for you?

Threads like these remind me that I really should take pictures of all my fishing gear - for insurance purposes... :D

Re: Fuji SKTS and ACS seats.

The ACS are very much a personal taste that seem to polarize people. Based on the way I palm reels, I absolutely love them! I find them very comfortable, but that is only for my style. I think you gotta go and feel them for yourself to figure out which side of the fence you lie on.
