Re: Daiwa Tatula SV spool bearing access
How would you put a drop of oil on your spool bearing during regular maintenance? Take the side plate off everything time you want to put a drop of oil on it? Just under do the cast control friction cap, that gives you direct access to the bearing. After the first service pop the outer facing shiel...

Re: Daiwa Tatula SV spool bearing access
Okay, thank you, that seems pretty inconvenient, no wonder my Daiwa friends prefer the free floating spool.PikeRoadBassn wrote:Christian, you indeed do have to remove the side plate to access the spool bearing on that side.

Daiwa Tatula SV spool bearing access
Hey guys, I just picked up a Daiwa Tatula sv casting reel. I own mostly Shimano reels, not much experience with Daiwa. Anyway, I wanted to remove the spool bearings, clean them, and lightly oil them. My question is, to get the bearing out of the handle sideplate, do I have to remove the sideplate? I...

[quote="mrpao"]What kind of braking system does this reel have ?[/quote
It has the same braking as the Brenious does, like 8 internal pins.

Re: Shimano 17 STILE SS 150HG opinions and feedback wanted
I purchased one from Japan Tackle earlier this year. It makes a good reel for high resistance baits. Not sure if I am gonna to keep it yet. The lack of external brake adjustment annoys me a little. Other than that it is really smooth despite the lower bearing count and casts well. The handle is 105...

Shimano 17 STILE SS 150HG opinions and feedback wanted
Hey guys,
I'm looking at this reel, if any of you guys have it can you give me some feedback of it? Looks like a curado/scorpion 70 size reel with a lot more line capacity.
Thanks in advance,
Christian

Re: Shimano Zodias 2 piece casting rods......Info please!
You can find the MS-X 662m for around 230 bucks. This would make a good all around rod if it isn't too short. Great blank, Fuji Titanium Sic guides. Moving baits I'd say 3/16 to 5/8 is about right for their medium power stuff. Bottom contact, half ounce would be about tops, with 3/8 oz right in the...

Re: Shimano Zodias 2 piece casting rods......Info please!
I'm in the same boat. Looking for a 2 piece BFS rod. The Zodias splits in the middle as do most shorter 2 piece Jdm rods. I believe the Zodias has more Usdm traditional powers and tapers, so for an all around I'd probably opt for the medium. Here's a short list of alternatives. Megabass Hyuga Abu G...

Shimano Zodias 2 piece casting rods......Info please!
Hey guys, I'm looking for a quality 2 piece rod and came across the Shimano Zodias. From what I see, they only sell them out of Japan, the 2 piece that is. I'm just looking for some info on the rod. Is the medium or medium heavy more of an all around rod? Does it split in two at the handle or is it ...
