Re: Struggling on Which Reel
You are gonna hold more line on the Scorpion than you are the Curado. If you are using thin lines, and light baits...Curado. Otherwise, go for the Scorpion.

Re: Tatula Hate vs newer shimanos
Even Daiwa and Shimano are offshoring some of the manufacturing. I never heard of a Shimano reel which is not produced by Shimano. Can you please show an example? I was under the impression that Shimano is the only reel company that completely makes their own reels. They dont make all of the parts ...

Re: Bearings (oil and or grease)
Synthetic gear oil for the frame bearings, and spool bearing oils (thin) for spool bearings. Depending on the reels purpose, is gonna depend on how thin/thick of a spool bearing oil I use.

Re: Conquest 100 users
Got the reel in the mail today. Alls I can say is "WOW". Smooth, and small. The palm side is without a doubt just as small as my Conquest 50. This reel is gonna be fun.

Re: Opinion: It may not be worth it
I recently sold off a few high end reels that I just loved, but would never use them for whatever reason. However, I have always wanted to get a newer Conquest, so I figured I got the extra coin now, so why not. Its a viscous cycle.

Re: Conquest 100 users
Of course I read that review, its practically the only one out there. First thing I do is search the Review Archives. Good to hear its holding up strong. Im really looking forward to this reel, and getting hands on with it.

Conquest 100 users
I love round reels, they are just a thing all on their own. I have a CQ50, and a Calcutta100XT. I love my 200GTB, but its just a little too big for me. Loving the look of the reel, I just stuck it in the display case cause its pretty. I sold a bunch of stuff I dont use, and decided to order my...

Re: Lews KVD reel?
As funny as it sounds, Shimanos gears are complete junk. From the "I" series up, nothing but pure garbage for durability. Plenty of friends with Doyo products (mostly Lews) that flip/punch/frog with reels with aluminum gears and no "geary" feel after prolonged use. Their Shimano I's, K's, SLX's, no...

Re: Tatula Hate vs newer shimanos
........serious. Doyo? Yeah. Actually. Some of the reels they produce are rather stellar. For instance, the BPS JM Signature Platinum. All aluminum construction, solid internal components, dual braking system. I put it right there with my Shimano CU50E in the fun and overall performance. Ive...

Re: Tatula Hate vs newer shimanos
I personally have not been impressed with anything Shimano or Daiwa in the "workhorse" range. Ive been more satisfied overall with Doyo products. Who’s designing for Doyo these days? Doyo makes Quantum and Abu reels to the mfgr's specs. Doyo. They are their own manufacturer that makes many brands a...

Re: Shimano reel names
Although I think Vanford is a weird name for a spinning reel, I hope they are not eliminating the 'Stradic' name for it. That would be a huge mistake. Everyone knows what a stradic is and they scream quality. It would be like Aunt Jemima changing its syrup name after 130 years.. oh crap wait... lol...
