Thanks Bantam1 ... Can you advise what the remaining models may be used for ? It's difficult to tell (outside of the "D" dropshot model) you mentioned earlier ...Bantam1 wrote:That is the "D" model for drop shot. You will see the D listed in the model number.

Re: Shimano Sellus Spinning Rod : Shakyhead ?
Thanks Bantam1 - Pretty confusing though as they also make a 2nd 6'8" XF - only thing different in the spec is a odd 5lb. to 10lb. mono line rating (versus the 6lb. to 12 lb mono line range of the one you suggested) ... I'm guessing the 2nd 6'8" XF version with the lower mono line rating may be the ...

BPS Pro Qualifier : Would You Buy ?
I have considered buying the BPS Pro Qualifier baitcast reel for a while now ...Howver the 6/18/14 Tackle Tour review was less than favorable (i.e. rough , bumpy drag) . My intended application would be dragging a C-Rig , dragging a football jig and occasional pitching / flipping , so the 7:1 ratio ...

The Fluke Rigging ?
Specific to The Fuke *(not The Super Flukeor Super Fluke Jr. ) - how do you rig ? With the flat side of the Fluke on the bottom or top ? ... Inserting a EWG hook into The Fluke appears difficult !

Re: Mono Line : Hard Jerkbaits & Topwater
I say Big Game just so I can use a couple of different line sizes and stay with the same performance properties ...It could just as easily be Sufix Elite though (don't see much siege around ) ...May decide to give something like Sufix Elite 8 lb and 12 lb a try for jerkbaits and topwater .

Re: Mono Line : Hard Jerkbaits & Topwater
I have seen this line before - but others noted just as cheap backing line on a reel due to it's light weight ...Not sure of it's other qualities such as strength , castability , abrasion resistance, etc. Others may prefer a different mono than Trilene Big Game - first I am more interested in gettin...

Mono Line : Hard Jerkbaits & Topwater
I'm looking to standardize my mono line setup for the above tactics - Is below a good starting point ?
Trilene Big Game 10lb. : Suspending Hard Jerkbaits (Rogues , X-Raps)
Trilene Big Game 15lb. : Topwater Baits (Gunfish , Pop-R's )

Re: Academy S&O Vision 110 knock-off
Texas Rigged : Thanks !! ... I looked at these H20 Xpress Ultimate Jerk Shad previously at Academy - but what turned me off was the discription stating that they are a : "floating" jerk bait . I thought the quality looked good - but if they didn't suspend , I wasn't interested . Tell us more about t...

Re: Favorite Jig Trailers?
Now that we are into Jan. with cold water , you will want to go with jig trailers with less action / more subtle action . My favorite is the Zoom Super Chunk / Super Chunk Jr. trailer (in your favorite color) which also provides a nice , slow glide to a jig on the fall ...Bass are not going to use m...

I would therefore look for a color that you think would work in your waters - perhaps a color you can not find wit...

Re: Winter Jig Love ?
Previously , I have been of the opinion to use a jig trailer color very close to the color of the jig . Now many of the jig colors (i.e. Dirty Jigs) come in amazing realistic colors with several different color strands found in one jig ! Whose to say any more what a proper jig / trailer combination ...

Looks like the Alabama Craw color which I have not tried before ... could possibly work in my waters.
