Re: OG Steez vs Steez TW
Yes, I sold the spool, not the reel. I sold them for +/- 80$ a piece and they went pretty quick. You don't see many for sale so I guess it's up to you what to ask. My Steez SV G1 1016 spools came with the coupler piece. It is part of the spool assembly part #(s) and daiwa, stateside, doesn't sell p...

Re: OG Steez vs Steez TW
The Steez A, Steez SV TW, and zillion SV Tw use the same side plate bearing size. The steez SV TW and zillion SV use the same spool bearing size + coupler. The Steez A, stock, doesn't use the bearing coupler that comes on the Steez SV TW/Zillion SV TW. However, you have to use the coupler with the ...

Re: Bantam MGL reviews?
Yeah the Cabela's Arachnid is much like the old body style (non CT) Fuego. Has the extra 2 bearings in the knobs and 2 on the levelwind. Think it has 2 main shaft, 1 anti reverse, 1 pinion, 2 spool, 4 handle knobs, 2 levelwind. Wish more companies would do this for mid priced reels, still find is so...

Re: Bantam MGL reviews?
I still never figured out why the US model Bantam MGL always lists only 8 bearings total. Saw plenty of schematics and I'm pretty sure its 9 total, Shimano USA still hadn't changed it last time I checked. Unless of course the count is different for the US model after all...

Re: Pflueger Supreme and Supreme XT reviews (casting reels)
But they're not SV103s????? I know...right? No seriously, are they basically just another Doyo reel or are they decent? Thanks! Knew one guy that had them, he fished the same river system as I do. Said that they fished a lot like Revo Gen 3 reels did. Don't remember exactly, but I think he said the...

Re: OG Steez vs Steez TW
How is the drag on the Steez A and Steez SV TW different??? I assume the A uses 2 plates and the SV has a multi stack with maybe eared washers??? Also, is the OG steez the same frame as the Steez SV or SS/SV??? The OG steez 100SH , SS SV, OG Zillion, Steez A and Steez SV TW all share the same gear ...

Re: New 2018 Power Pro
I apologize for that wording, fraying isn't the best way of putting that. I used some 40lb Timber brown till it looked awful, saved it for backing and recently used it. Was messing around at work and showed someone how it would still lift big ole chunks of wood even after years of use. But again, fr...

Re: Bantam1 - grease question
ACE-2 just like the rest of the casting reels. Yes it can be purchased by calling 877-577-0600. What is the Shimano grease you can buy from Tacklewarehouse??? Mine says Ace RB 2 on it, is that the same? Bought it and have used it for awhile on ALL of my reels and plenty of friend's reels I work on ...

General Questions
Basic thread, ask a question get an answer (assuming it doesn't fit somewhere more specific). My few quick questions: Do BFS bearings/Boca bearings/ZPI bearings help stock reels much? Versus stock bearings cleaned well with light oil? Is braid really that much better than fluoro? I'm close to conver...

Re: NEW: Daiwa Tatula 100 (based off Steez)
That is a quick way to get a great performing reel. I am still VERY impressed with my Zillion TWS DIY spool. After putting a full spool of 30lb braid on there it is a sledgehammer for any size lure. Wish they made them maybe just a tad (like 20 yards deeper) for a little bit heavier line. I honestly...

Re: Steez A Question
Thanks for all the replies, only bad review I found was a guy from BR (not a member there, read it from google) and he said the stabilizing pin just fell off his Steez A. Sold it for a Metanium MGL saying it felt "much smoother on retrieve" which was odd to me. I just have a deep fear of ordering a...

Re: Taper Characteristics of Different Rod Brands?
Dobyns seems a tad bit softer than St. Croix and Abu style rods, with maybe a tad deeper bend. I for this reason and considering a MH Dobyns rod because it is as soft as both my Abu and St. Croix Mediums with a bit better flex. Being a primarily fluoro fisherman, my 7'Medium Villain 2.0 rods are per...

Re: Braid with leader for crankbaits
I used to be a straight FC guy but, I tried braid to FC leader and...I love it. Feel the bottom so much better and get solid houses 25ft down on long line. I went out about 2 weeks ago and still haven't edited the video I did reviewing/talking about it. I have converted one Zillion TWS to braid (wi...

Re: Steez A Question
Mine came in today. Feels like a really nice reel. Love the weight of it. Just perfect. Disappointed it doest come with reel oil or a Steez reel cover. Gonna look more into the spools and change those paddle knobs. Cant wait to try it out. Is yours a JDM Steez A also??? I just got my Paypal account...
