Re: Power finesse rod

My vote would be a custom built on a Point Blank 69mlxf. Plenty versatile imo with 360 grams of power, fast tip, and deep flex. Plenty of power to move fish, with a tip section that will load up on the lightest stuff. Will braided line make up for a deeper flex with some of the mentioned techniques...

Re: Steez A Question

Had to bring this up yet again... I think I FINALLY have sold the necessary equipment to justify a Steez A. My question is, should I just save another $100 and go with the JDM Steez SV TW XH? Anyone who has used the 1012 Steez versus Zillion 1016 should know if the difference is worth it. I am going...

Re: New Daiwa?

Maybe they are just holding off and going to really surprise us, new Z1016 to compete with the Bantam, new Zillion too just for the hell of it (with recessed mag dial), new Pixy SV, so much amazing things Daiwa COULD do, not sure what they will... Bantam is what, an aluminum frame and side plate mi...

Re: SLP Works Steez SV TW

I run a 1012 and a 1016 in my Steez A. Both are great spools for a wide range of lure weights, and the 1012 can handle very light stuff with the right rod (it will a throw a 2.5" Zman grub on a 1/8 jighead about 30-35m with 6 lb Fireline Ultra). Don't own a standard Steez TW, but they are not over-...

Re: Power finesse rod

This makes me think 2 things. I need to be using braid, and need to spend more on rods, not reels. I am catching fish fine with 12lb fluoro and $150 rods. Wonder how much more I could feel with a +$300 rod and braid???

Re: Power finesse rod

Looking for suggestions for a rod for what I suppose most people would consider power finesse techniques. I'm a Dobyns fan and strongly considering the HP 742C, but figured I would look outside the box, also I'm not a fan of split grips. So basically I'm looking for a 7'3"-7'6" rod that will mostly...

Re: New 2018 Power Pro

Modern guides should have no issue with any braided line. Thanks for including some extra small diameters with this new release!!! I enjoyed the original Super Slick in that timber brown color, just frayed a bit on me. I say that but it still never broke or lost me a fish. That being said, I will d...

Re: Steez A Question

Buy it! Lol. I don't regret purchasing my 8.1 steez a from Japan. It's the most expensive reel I've bought to date too and I can't decide which rod I want to use it on cause it's that good and a charm to use. It can go on my finesse rod for throwing smaller baits and weightless senkos, crankbaits r...

Re: Steez A Question

Yes, my jdm 8.1 has the clicking drag like a salt water reel. Thanks for the feedback. I am assuming you like your JDM 8.1 alright also??? I know the warranty isn't there with JDM, and for that reason the magseal spooks me a bit as do any major potential issues... Really nice all around reel. There...
