Re: 500 size shimano?

The Drive gear is different and I assume a better material, the left side drive bearing is different because of the drive gear dimensions. I'm sure both are fine reels and I do have the Sahara and feel it was well worth the money I paid for it.

I'm really leaning towards the poison now, but at the price of the expride and the amount of guys talking highly of them, I might have to get one or two to replace some lower end rods I have.
I have 4 Expide rods and love them, very nice rods for the money.

Re: Higher End Rods

I think a Shimano Expride 6’10 M or Poison Adrena 6’11 M+ would look awesome and serve you well

Re: St Croix Mojo Inshore for BFS fishing

Thanks to everyone for your replies, I guess only time will tell when I get these rods how they will perform for me. No matter what I fish all water and all fish so I figure out some place for these rods How did the 7' Light do? What was the lightest you were able to cast? Thanks The rod action was...

Casting Drop Shot Setups, What You Got ??

I been throwing the Drop Shot more and more every year, I still kinda hate it but it does catch fish for me. I don't like spinning gear so I have been throwing it on an old Conquest 51 mounted on a Phenix Feather 7'1 ML rod, It does ok but I know compared to modern reels it has a heavy spool and the...

Re: Chatterbait reel

I use a 14 Calcutta 101 spooled with 14lb SunLine Fuoro sniper on a 7'2 Shimano Exage MH rod, I don't think you need a special reel to throw Chatterbaits just get something your comfortable with and get to fishing.

Re: Anyone got an SLX XT coming?

I did end up getting the 8.2:1 model for my frogging reel and I like it a lot. Casts very well and the reel feels good for a high speed hear ratio, I caught 1 fish with it and it was up in some grass and it definitely needs the drag locked down for that kinda work. I think I will upgrade Carbon drag...

Re: Anyone got an SLX XT coming?

Its calling my name but no I haven't yet, It funny because the SLX and the SLX DC get a lot of love but the XT is the best value of the bunch and the best looking IMHO.

Re: Shimano Aldebaran Purchase

Digitaka is good but if I was ordering that many you might get a better deal at Japan Lure Shop and you will get a few free lures as well I just checked , japan lure shop is $17 more for the Aldebaran 50. Yeah, but for that $17 extra, you will likely get a $20 lure with the order. I always did when...

Re: G.Loomis/Shimano Swimbait Rod/Reel/Line Advice Please

For an affordable nice option I went with the Powell Endurance Casting Rod 7'6" Mag Medium Heavy, is rated to 3oz and have thrown 2.5oz baits on it. I have a Shimano Cardiff 301 spooled with 20lb SunLine Assassin on it. The whole big swimbait game in new to me and didn’t want to spend to much on my ...

SLX hands down and if you can spend the xtra few $’s on the XT version, you will not regret it.

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Chatterbait got me this one today on a very hot and humid day. I was throwing it on my old Conquest 101DC mounted to a Daiwa Tatula Elite Rod.
