Re: Great Review Methodology - Magnesium TS rod Review
Looks like they got their nomenclature a little off in the article. Line slap is the physical slapping of the blank by the line during a cast as the line is running out. The line barely touching the blank while at full deflection is not a negative, it tells you that the manufacturer did their job ri...

Re: Pontoon Boat Advice / Anyone Heard of this Shop?
The cheap ones are just that. I'd go middle of the road price wise for a dependable craft from any manufacturer. Another to look at are Buck's Bags boats. flyanglersonline.com and other sites have put some of the brands you mentioned thru the ringer to see what survived. You should be able the find ...

Re: Opinions on fishing from a Canoe
Canoes and kayaks work fine and can put you into some shallow, narrow, moving water places that are near impossible for other craft. I own two canoes, Sawyer Autumn Mist solo and a Mad River 16 ft Explorer. 25 years and counting for the Royalex Explorer and I stand and cast all types of gear all the...

Re: Tracker Boats
I have more hard luck stories about Tracker boats that any other boat I know of, but then there are a lot of them out there that can go wrong and rack up some numbers. Mostly leaks and cracks. The wood decks don't seem to hold well also. I'd look at Fisher and others.

Re: Need fly rod and reel suggestions!
Look at the Echo rods designed, built, and sold by Steve Rajeff, 15 time casting champion and a world class multispecies angler. An excellent line of rods for the money.

Re: I got a new rod and reel!!!
You didn't say what your fishing for, out west its hard to be on the water without Sz 16 thru 12 Hares Ears and Prince nymphs. Both are very easy to tie, and they seem to get better the uglier they get from the fish gumming them.

Re: Matching Up A Rod With Cap. 1500 Reel
A longtime favorite kayak smallie rod designed to perfectly match your reel is the G Loomis SJR 700. Ex fast actioned and the heaviest butt section I've experinced on a true 4 to 8 lb rod. Light, sensitive and sweet casting.
