Re: Steez Rods ?
I just bought a 7'1 H SVF Compile X the other day. I have a few cheaper rods with EVA foam and it does not compare to the quality of the Steez. That said I hope it lasts a good long time. Good to hear that others have had good success with them. Does the Reel Magic really work or is that just one pe...

Re: US Reel Supercaster
I am not a fan of anything Jimmy Houston or Roland Martin endorses. I have met them when I used to work for Bass Pro and was not impressed (personal opinion). Low end reels like the Effortless and the Hibdon are just that low end. There are a lot of other reels out there within either price point th...

Naptha or Acetone on bearings?
I clean all my bearings in non-diluted simple green and then soak in Acetone for about 2hrs. Then to get the smoothest results I find myself soaking the bearings either longer by hours or in newly poured Acetone for a few more hours. When I read about different methods Naptha comes up a lot. Is it b...

Re: braid for frogging?
Powerpro or Suffix in 50 or 65lb. Those are what I have always used. I am however going to try either the Spiderwire Fluorobraid or the Suffix 832 whenever I can make my mind up. 832 sinks good to know. wondered if fluorobraid sank but didn't think 832 would. thanks can probably rule both those two...

Re: Light braid for baitcast reel?
I used to only use fused braid for heavier stuff. Fused braid is stiffer than true braid and so it is easier to de-birdnest for me, though the casting is not as smooth. But now I am thinking of going true braid for lighter rating, lets say 8 - 10lb. Which is good? Which is not getting birdnest easi...

Re: Fireline Exceed.....thoughts?
As long as it is not as flat as older Firelines I will give it a try.

Most definitely worth a try IMO. I am always looking for a new line for spinning reels. I think I have tried a new one every year since ever.

Re: Interested in a TD type R
The Zillion Type R is the way to go if you want a very refined reel able to handle many techniques. However you sacrifice some weight gain when you compare other reels in this price range give or take $100. Read this:

I'm speechless. Where did you find the Sol Rod? I have been looking everywhere and can't find one. So jealous.

Re: Citica and line issues....
I realize this is a little late but here's my 2 cents. I would go with the Citica's when you can get them. I spent a few weeks getting to know mine last year and really liked it. I felt that it casted easier and farther than my Curado E7. It was put to the test on it's first outing catching over 100...
