Coming from a Daiwa fan, the Antares is awesome for deep cranking. Smooth, powerful and casts a mile.
Some think it's big but, I really like it for palming...unless it's 30 degrees out.

Re: Best spool upgrade for distance sv103 frame
Could do the RCS 1016. There may be better out there but the RCS 1016 gets good distance with nice control. Farther than an SV spool with a little less control.
Idk how it acts in the SV103 though. Spools can be funky in other reels.

Re: Conquest rods shipping
Is the Conquest line going to affect the NRX line at all? I know both lines have the MBR tapers but, is the JWR rods from the NRX line staying?

Re: Rod and reel storage in between trips
Well, my rods are stored about 5 months each year seeing how the lakes are frozen during that time.
I usually stand my rods in a stand with rod sleeves. For the reels, I will clean them, and then store them with a reel cover in a box.

Re: 853 or 854? Finesse Jigs.
If 3/16 is the total weight (jig plus trailer), I'd go with the 852c. If the majority of the lures total weight is 3/8oz and above, I'd go with the 853c.
It also depends on how big of fish you comes across. The above advice is purely for delivering the bait, not what happens after the hookset.

Re: Spybaiting - who's been successful with it?
[img][img][/img][/img] I have caught everything with spybaits. Trout, Bass, Catfish, Perch and small Muskie. right when you think you are reeling slow, go even slower.... They work on busting fish. I've caught them to 7 lbs on a home made spybait. I don't know how to post a photo, but I have one to...

Re: Fall Delta Punching Video
Sounds like I need to ditch the action cam and get go pro. Sounds like they make it pretty simple to where even a dummy like me could figure it out. Check out the Garmin VIRB Ultra 30. That's what I use and it's pretty sweet. Voice control and the ability to connect to your phone for a live feed is...

Funny you say that, I was wondering about that too. That color produces for all species, year round.

Pretty much anywhere you order from in Japan, it comes faster than ordering stateside.

Re: Help picking first daiwa reel.
You could pack a decent amount of 8-10lb braid on an Alphas AIR spool. The spool is non-ported so that helps with durability and salt water not getting easy access to the spool bearings.

Re: Evergreen Brett Hite Combat Sticks
I think I'm done reading reviews on here. My wife got some money on a scratch off and let me have a guilty pleasure, so I ordered the Evergreen JackHammer 7'3" Glass rod. I have a Hammer Rod in a 6'9" H and I should have just got a longer model but I was really intrigued by the review it got here a...

Re: Crankbait reel
You'll thank yourself once you start casting lighter crankbaits in the wind with an SV reel. I use an Antares for deep cranking and it bombs those bigger cranks. For smaller cranks, I use a Steez SV TW and I have no problems casting cranks directly into the wind. Shimano reels I feel are great long ...

Re: Abu is complete garbage compared to Daiwa and Shimano
They're not complete garbage. But their pricing is rediculous. No clue why anyone would pay anywhere close tomsrp for anything they offer. They can usually be found for around 1/3 off BNIB. I used a Revo Rocket for a while. I thought it was a decent reel. I prefer Daiwa but, I wouldn't say Abu is j...

Re: Tutula SV TW review... what did you mean?
At the end of the Tatula SV TW review this statement was written: "The combination of the T-Wing System with the SV Spool and Ultimate Tournament Drag gives anglers an everyday reel that can handle the entire gamut of applications, as long as you have the right line for the job spooled on." What we...
