Re: Savvy Rods
I have a SS704C with a Chronarch200E7 loaded with 50# braid for fishing T-Rigged plastics in heavy cover, and a SS705C with a Curado200E7 loaded with 50# braid for my hollow frogs. This rod is the best bang for the buck in a "backbone" category IMO. I love mine and am soo glad I made these purchases...

Re: New Shimano Chronarch VS Abu Mgx
Here we go again. People bashing on a reel that they have yet to use. Didn't have to, I have people on the inside that tested this reel already. If they say nay, then I know not to waste my $. Buy AT YOUR OWN RISK, I will give my OPINION. The only opinion that you have shared is that you don...

Re: New Shimano Chronarch VS Abu Mgx
Chronarch CI4+ is probably better in every category, all speculation until it comes out though. I would take a Curado/Chronarch 50e over an MGX, double the drag pressure and better casting performance. The MGX should be able to take on a Core 50mg7, but even the $200 50e beats the MGX IMO. I wouldn...

Re: New Shimano Chronarch VS Abu Mgx
I wouldn't get either. The Abus have too many problems, and the new Ci4 Chronarch is not worth the $$. A composite frame on a baitcaster? That was the one thing that made me a little weary of shelling out the $270, but I couldn't help the look of that reel, I had to have one. Good thing for some ins...

Re: Anyone else feel Guilty?
I have been fishing Shimanos since my first brand new baitcaster when I was 10, a CU200B. I have used other brands through the years, but have not felt guilty due to they end up in the same place, back to the store. The only ones that have stayed with me through the years were Shimano. When the E se...

Re: Spin or baitcast
All but 1 are baitcasters. Only use spinning for very light baits or if there is just too much wind for me to deal with.

Re: Weight factor
As far as Im concerned they can keep the overpriced underweighted reels. I have no problems chucking and winding my E series Shimanos all day long. My rods arent even the lightest rods either.

Re: Line capacity... Just don't get it.
I hate using backing. I think a great standard would be 100 yards for a bass oriented baitcaster, then offer a 200 yard size for the pike and walleye guys in certain reels. BUT make the "standard" bass offerings in 100yards at 10 - 12 lbs. Like a Shimano 200 vs 50 size? With my 50s I get just the r...

Re: Curado G My Opinion
I think they perform great. No knob bearings? So what? You really don't need them, 2 spool, 1 crankshaft, 1 pinion, and 1 anti reverse is all you really need.

Nicest Daiwa I've seen. Only because it looks like a Curado if you squint real hard, lol. Seriously, very nice setup.

Having the longer handle makes turning the handle nicer, its really not that much lighter.tomustang wrote:That hawg handle makes it shine more, does it balance reel better?

Re: Quantum hot sauce
Good stuff, but the oil has to be reapplied often due to its very thin. The dye in it is so you can see where it has been applied in case you miss a spot. Performance wise I liked it, but have recently switched to Reel Butter products by Ardent due to I just couldnt keep spending the money to have ...
