Re: Shimano Core 51/101 or Metanium mg

I own and love both the 101 and 51 but like trav mentioned, it's going to come down to what speed reel you prefer for TW and JB.
I prefer a 7:1 gear ratio so 51 it is for me. If you plan on slow rolling SB then you will benefit more from the 101.

My Zombie Spinning rod fishes, balances and feels VERY similar to my F3-610DGS Aaron Martens rod.

Re: Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper

T-rigged with a 5/0 is plenty in most places but when fishing a super weedy lake like Big O I add a Head Case to the front of it.

The sooner you remind yourself that Carlos Carrapiço believes Shimano is a sub par product compared to Daiwa the sooner you'll avoid countless posts and topics allocating his homerdom.

Re: Rod Help

Have you seen the Dobyns DX and Phenix Recon rods? JDM styling on USDM rods....they are by far the most attractive current production rods. Besides the fact that they are great rods they are one of the few US rod making companies trying to make their rods look as good as they fish. As far as Dobyns ...

I know that Fluorocarbon lines sink, but if you go down to the 6-7 lb does a line of such small diameter affect lures?
