Re: Looking for a spinning rod to throw larger baits (1/4-1/2)oz.

I fish this way when the conditions call for it. Depending on the time of year, I can go a week or more without picking up a baitcaster even though they dominate my collection. It can be very effective and it's fun. When they are crushing lures, I use a st croix legend tournament TBS71MF. When I nee...

Re: Help me pick a big spinning reel.

I have the exact ci4 reel DirtyD4 speaks of in 4000 size. I bought it new when they came out. Just used it today. It's a great reel and it feels smaller than other shimano 4000s in hand. I use more expensive reels and have more daiwa than shimanos, but I go back to this one frequently. It just feels...

Orochi Peak Performance series

I missed completely on these during their time. I have my eyes on an Advantage type R. I looked around TT a bit and did not find an overwhelming amount of info on the series. Perhaps I missed a key thread somewhere. Honestly, I became interested in the series simply because I find the rods attractiv...

Perfection. I would have to sit on it for a while before taking it on a lake.

Re: St. Croix gold start warranty

Thanks for the input. My wife talked me into sending it back. I did like the rod. I found an Apia that's a bit heavier and two piece. I had a relatively light morning, so I just went and did it. I guess it was in part laziness. I really appreciate guys that sell here and on auction sites that packag...

St. Croix gold start warranty

Anybody made use of this warranty that would care to share? I broke a ES76MF doing a Gong Lei type heave onto the dock with about a 3 lb bass. It was a great rod and has served me very well for about 3 years. However, I have had my eyes set on a different spinner that could double duty for some shor...

This one sucked me in. You'll need a translate function if you choose to hit the link. I'll check them out when they show up on hook up tackle. I hope they don't work. Hook up might as well have a direct deposit set up with my employer.

Re: OLD member, lost/made new account, JDM Steez/Sammy caught Bass

Thanks for bringing back many fond memories of bass fishing in MI. I've been to that reservoir! They get larger and more impressive looking in photos here in FL, but those northern strain bass are just as fun to catch. Nice work.

Re: New Daiwa Steez A broke after second use...

Looks like a lot of issues folks report on that new Steez A TW reel... Yeah; seems like the most positive reviews come after guys spend 3 weeks working on them or changing out spools 59 times, or excuses about inshore application purposes. I like messing with reels as much as the next guy, but I'd ...

When it takes both arms to hold it up--that's a PB that should stand a few seasons. What were you throwing, if I may ask?

Re: Megabass Vision 110????

Thanks zodiak 311. I'm looking forward to trying them out. I also just started playing around with swapping out hooks on 110s recently. I always liked the katsuage hooks that come with them for bass, but I'm in FL and I have a lot of gar hitting them and bending them up. The occasional bowfin will ...
