Re: Replacements
Not sure what the "Metan" line is, I don't see it on the packaging anywhere, but I've been using the 8lb Shooter Invisible for a year or so. I picked up a couple spools cheap a long time ago and never really used it until recently. I am seriously impressed with the abrasion resistance and it is sur...

Re: Shimano Expride B 7' light spinning rod
Here's a video where JP uses this rod for microfishing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXxMJ2H4FUo I watched that one and another he did with this rod. I ended up ordering it this morning along with a Vanquish 2500. Hope to throw some drop shot, jig and slip bobber for crappie, and probably those ...

Re: Shimano Expride B 7' light spinning rod
Anyone have this rod? Been eyeing it hard as an all arounder. From what I've read most seem to indicate it is more of ML than a L powered rod.

Re: Missing '22 Ald BFS o-ring
I ended up finding it. Just a word of caution, don't let that o-ring slip off when removing the spool. The o-ring doesn't appear to be something you can order from Shimano USA.

Missing '22 Ald BFS o-ring
This is pretty stupid but I must have pulled off the little rubber o-ring on the spool shaft when removing the spool from the reel. Can't find it anywhere. Noticed it was missing as there was a slight rattle when I spun the spool after placing it back in the reel. It doesn't look like the Curado BFS...

Re: 1st BFS reel-Aldebaran BFS
I am still confused over the Aldebaran's feel. It is by no means grindy or bad, but directly compared to the Zillion SVTW (old 1016 one), the Aldebaran does not have that floaty, air feeling. It has more of a connected gear feel. Not sure this is a bad thing, I have just always had Daiwa reels I gu...

Re: Evergreen Orion Black Rose

Re: Post purple
What toddmc said. Morning temps were low 30's. I used to never wear gloves and then I started winter wade fishing smallmouth in rivers in northern IL. I find the nitrile gloves let me keep dexterity and provide some warmth, of course keep your hands dry too.

Re: 2021 Daiwa Zillion SV TW
I think the issues arise with the leader knot going through the T-wing. Just run a leader that doesn't pass through the T-wing and you should be fine.

Re: A source for 4x7x2.5mm bearings?
I'm the OP and didn't order them from avidrc as the metal bearings don't appear to have removable shields. They look to be the same as the gritty ones I bought from ebay and presumably the same from some manufacturer in China. I could have sworn my original bulk order of bearings in 4x7x2.5mm had r...

Re: A source for 4x7x2.5mm bearings?
I don't know what you guys clean your bearings with but I use naphtha and an ultrasonic cleaner. Well I bought 30 bearings of all different sizes from Avid RC for the $1 each, and I was very disappointed. When I got the bearings they seemed fine. I took the bearings and put them in naphtha and in t...
