Re: How common is crooked NRX recoil guides?

Sorry, but you are fighting an uphill battle. I don't recall any of my nrx rod are what I called perfect. They all have their own little imperfections. I have seem lower price rod done much better. If the little detail bother you too much, call the dealer or loomis and exchange it. If it's only cosm...

Congrats Dan. We'll missed you. I got you a parting gift. I couldn't get any of the unobtanium. But I got you a bottle of your very own unicorn's tear, of course, unfiltered for maximum performance. :big grin:

Re: Dx701s

Ok sounds good guys I'll probably get the 702, seems to suit my needs best. One more question. What do you guys think of the reel seat on the dobyns spinning rods how the nut that locks the reel in place is in front of the reel as opposed to behind (ie megabass orochi xx and jackall poison adrena)?...

Re: Hawgtech Handle Retainer Modification

I wouldn't worry about the opened nut. Remember your handle fit tightly onto the drive shaft, so the openning is on top of the handle only. If water seepage is the problem, it's more likely to get in above and below the drag star and the pinion bearing from inside the spool.

Re: Hollow Body Frogs: Taking on water

The idea is to minimize leaks under water, and introduce a new hole above water to let air escape for hooksets. Here is what I do. Tie a couple turn of braids to the nose To minimize leaks that way. Electric tape wrap to the shank of the hook to form a cork for the openning. Some will use silicone c...

Re: shimano metanium users

After a few trip, I had to apply oil to the brake race to prevent squealing, Usually twice a year. Nothing major. I did spent some time to get use to the new brake system.

Re: NRX 842C MBR vs 842S SJR

Don't bet you house on it. I don't believe that there was ever an GLX 842S SJR made. ( at least not to the public ). While I don't have the NRX 842C anymore. ( traded for a 843C ) bend my newly arrived NRX 842 SJR shows the same tip characteristic as the 843C, just lighter in power. While the ...

Re: Gander Mountain Panfish/Trout Series for 2015

They do look quite alike, maybe even the same manufacture. But the XF rated blank definitely scare me a bit. I don't like XF for anything, especially for UL fishing.

Re: Help! NRX 842S SJR and NRX 852S JWR

Decision made! As much as I would like to join the herd, I'm giving my allegiance to the the small but happy band of NRX 842S SJR rebels. Thanks to those who have given suggestions. The rebel force is growing, I have a 842 sjr on the way, It will be a while before that rod touch water, have those p...

Re: Transparent decal or other way to protect painted reel l

I have a TDZ with my palm impression on it, straight down to the part where my thumb rest on it. Repeated taping might wear the precious logo part down even faster than normal use. There are some of us that can't wait to get it off, might even do it by force. You know what this thread remind me of? ...
