Re: edge first strike update
That's quite disheartening. When I say I don't mind wait till next April, I didn't know they would take that literally. No update and no rods for me yet. I usually don't want to bad mouth a company, but I have ran out of good thing to say.

What's happening with Basspro's website?
Ever since the new web development team took over and redesigned their website. Their selection has been shrinked to a roadside stand level. Granted I am not their preferred customer and their target base. At least put the stuff up there for the chance of up sell. Example, bass pro claimed to "your ...

Re: TD 100m spool: inductor question?
You don't need any tool. Just pull the inductor ring with your fingers. The 2 little plastic blocks underneath should slide out as you pull and retract when you release. If it stuck, oil the tracks on the side of the blocks. ironically, I use Shimano oil on those, one application will last me half a...

Re: Daiwa Certate 2506 Hi Speed-Bail Operation
All my spinning reel will do that. No matter high end or low end. It's like the bumper on your car, it's there, but you don't use it everyday.... I hope.

Re: TD 100m spool: inductor question?
It's a mag V. Pull the inductor to check if the brake blocks are stuck. If stuck, oil it to make sure it slide in and out easily. This goes for all mag v or mag z Daiwas.

Careful with weight saving, it might work against you in term of balancing unless you have the right rod.

Re: Any good drop shot tutorials?
dropshot sinker is just an disposable anchor. I only use the long slender ones. My favorite is danielson. bent it slightly in the middle to form an ) shape. Some people prefer a light sinker. Lighter sinker are more snag resistant. I prefer a heavy sinker. As heavy as you can get away with without t...

Re: Reels with MagSeal bearings
You would need the magseal oil to properly service the bearings. I don't believe Daiwa sells it. I'm not sure if you can flush the mag oil and replace it with regular oil. Then you have purchased an expensive magseal bearing without a magseal. Kinda like having a steak dinner without the steak. :lo...

Re: JDM Certate 2510 PE-H Locomotive Level Wind
I wish I have a ranger. Although the reel feel ancient with wobbles and black plays in the handle. That reel is made for braid fishing, which is incredible foresight by Daiwa's engineers. Line roller is made of ceramic, not metal, how many reel can say that. Long forward tapered spool should be more...

Re: JDM Certate 2510 PE-H Locomotive Level Wind
Call me ignorant, but isn't advance locomotive level wind just an s shape cam? pretty much standard in all daiwa models? http://www.daiwa.com/reel/pop_all.aspx You are not going to like it, but wet braid stick to every thing. Especially light braid. You might want to try a whole new level wind syste...

Re: Speed Worming -- Seeking Advice
ultra vibe is a paddle tail worm, but I like the original speed worm better since it's a bit more durable. That little hooked tail part of ultra vibe tear too easily. Once it's gone, it's just another stubby senko without any action. With the original speed worm, you'll still get a senko after a vio...
