Re: Stradic Ci4 vs. Pflueger Patriarch magnesium spinning
Definitely gonna look for a setup for dad on father's day with a patriarch 9530, the fish he targets in Sydney is not so brutal as ones where I live. Any advice fellas? This is what I have a complete kit in mind: Patriarch 9530Maybe with that villian rod with 6'9" Med Lt Spool of 12# Nanofil in the ...

Daiwa Price Premium.
When I was a kid I remembered dad buying a daiwa cause it was reliable and affordable compared to other brands. I was pretty sure back in the early 90's they were cheaper on average than a shimano equivalent. When did they start becoming the premium brand? Looking through their catalogs their reels ...

Re: Stradic Ci4 vs. Pflueger Patriarch magnesium spinning
Hate to counter peoples claims but: I don't think a Stradic CI4 2500 is the Patriarchs 9530 match for a comparison: Stradic 2500: 6lb\200yds 15lb drag vs Pat: 6lb/120yd 6lb drag. The proper match would be the 9530 to the stradic ci4 1000 and the 9535 to the 2500. Depends on what you are comparing a...

Re: New reel decisions. Chron.E50, EXO, Ballistic, or MGX???
I can't seem to make a decision here. I really want to step to the dark side and try a Shimano, but they feel strange in my hand E200 especially(E50 not too bad). The Ballistic has too new of a system and more parts to fail, but I really like the idea and looks of the reel. The MGX is a bit more th...

Re: T3 vs Ballistic JDM Upgrades
I like the look of the ballistic better.
A ballistic with jdm handle, upgraded bearings and spool would be awesome.
Probably cost more than a t3 however.

Re: The Abu Villain Rods
It's strange,
I can't seem to find the abu villain rods in Australia. We have however the nexus, which is an upgraded version of the veritas 36ton with nano particles

Re: Search for a lightweight spin setup.
Originally I decided on a all quantum exo setup with a exo pti 30 and a 7' exo rod. But TW didn't have 30s and BPS charges 40% of it value for post ( crazy huh?) I've settled on a stradic ci4 3000 and a 7' 8-14lb mojo bass. So far it's proven to be a really strong setup. On a strong hook set, reel, ...

Re: Quantum Exo Spinning - Lightest on the market?
It's amazing how the exo is so light using aluminum. I guess its a case of good engineering vs use of exotic mg or carbon fibre. If its anywhere as smooth and rigid as the energy then it should prove a winner.

Re: Search for a lightweight spin setup.
Just to let you know the new 25 size Quantums seem closer to the older 20's to give you a size comparison and check out the schematics before you purchase any reels see which ones use the best componants(i.e. bearings, anti-rev.,.....) Cheers for that. Now I can line my ptib 20 wd rareniums and pat...

Search for a lightweight spin setup.
Hi all, ONE change. I'll be pairing any reel to the Abu veritas. Last few days of fishing my 6'6" has Proven the goods including a 43lb barramundi paired with an energy ptib 20. I've been looking for a good lightweight setup and have narrowed it down to 3: Shimano Rarenium 2500 + abu veritas 6-12lb ...

Re: Quantum Exo Spinning - Lightest on the market?
Hi all. I am currently trying to decide upon a light spin reel too. On paper the exo 25 and 30 seem an excellent choice but are unavailable and hence not warranteed In Australia. So reliability will be a big issue. Right now I am having a hard time deciding upon either: Exo pti 25 or 30 Stradic ci4 ...
